Vistaprint Photo Book – AD sent for review

disclaimer: I was not charged for this photo book for the purpose of review, my opinions, however, remain my own, honest thoughts

I was recently asked to create and review a photo book of my choice from the range on offer at Vistaprint. My Dad celebrated his 70th birthday at the end of last year and we had a celebration in Spain with him and my brother.  I’d taken hundred’s of photographs during our trip and thought a photo book would be a wonderful way of putting my favourite photo’s together.

Vistaprint offer photo books in 8 different sizes – I decided on the Extra Large Landscape Photobook 39x29cms with 24 pages (you could have up to 120 pages – I would have had more than 24 pages myself but couldn’t figure out how to add more at the upload stage).  I also opted for the free photo cover rather than the normal black linen cover.  I decided to go for a glossy paper finish.  The total cost would be £54.98.

I used their Download Editor which only took a couple of minutes to install onto my laptop and away I went.  It was easy to insert photos and text.  As I mentioned above, I couldn’t work out how to add additional pages, but it should have been possible to add more than the standard 24 pages.

Once I’d completed my book and checked it through, Vistaprint uploads it to their server – this took 10 minutes.  A lot longer process than other photo books I created previously, but never mind.

So now to await the finished result …….. just over a week later and there’s a knock on the door and it had arrived!

The photo cover was definitely worth opting for …

The photographs have printed well and all the pages are gloss finish, I didn’t add text on every page and I wish I’d been able to add more photographs to fill in some of the gaps to make more of a collage but in general, I was really pleased with the results.

It’s a lovely book showcasing a holiday and my Dad’s 70th Birthday celebrations so I’m sure we will be flicking through the pages again and again 🙂
