What a wonderful week – Grand Prix and the RSPB

What a wonderful week, and all thanks to blogging 🙂

At the beginning of the week I was starting to get grumpy about not being able to afford to go to the Grand Prix (my sacrifice for being a Stay at Home Mum) this weekend, as you can see in my post.  Then I saw a Twitter competition to win tickets the other day, I wasn’t really using Twitter before the blog started, now I’m addicted.  Anyway, I entered, and attached the link to my post.  Forgot all about it, thinking I’d never win anyway.

Yesterday I’d just come out of fundraising get together for Pre-school and checked my phone – new alert on Twitter.  I nearly screamed on the spot!  In fact I did run into the local convenience store and accost one of the other committee members and started to blurt out ‘I’ve won!, I’ve won! I’m going to the Grand Prix‘ It’s fair to say that I haven’t stopped shaking.  Due to childcare or the lack of, unfortunately Daddy P can’t come with me but hopefully one of my niece’s or my sister-in-law will be joining me and we’ll go with my brother and nephew – AT SILLY O’CLOCK – I’m a happy bunny.  I’m sure that my blog post, written completely independantly from any competition entry, must have helped secure those tickets.

I have a few other new blogging relationships that I’ll be talking about over the coming weeks, but I’m really thrilled to announce that Monkey and I are going to be working with the RSPB, to raise awareness of their Giving Nature a Home Campaign.  Watch this space over the coming weeks and months as we try lots of different ways of bringing nature into our garden and giving nature a home with us.  I am very excited about this project, so join us on our journey!

    1. I was in shock, it was a brilliant day. So chuffed Massa signed by top to go with my cap he signed a few years ago. The weather behaved and it was an exciting race – result!

  3. I was wondering how you came to have the tickets as I remember you saying how sad you were that you weren’t going. It’s amazing where blogging can take you isn’t it? I’m also looking forward to reading about your work with the RSPB, we love to watch the birds in our garden and I used to spend quite a bit of time birdwatching too.

    1. It made my year winning that competition! I love birds and we spend loads of time looking at them in the trees behind our garden. Will be doing some things for kids to make to help wildlife too, so watch thi space, very excited to be working with them.

  4. WOW! The hubby would LOVE to go to a Grand Prix, after all, that’s what his main business is around! Lucky you!!! Have been to a few BTCC races before and the atmosphere is amazing, so the Grand Prix must be even better!
