Botanicals Facial Range – a review AD

disclosure:  we were sent these products for the purpose of review, my comments, however, remain my own honest thoughts.

We live in a world where people get judged by their first impression.  I’d love to have hours to spend using lotions and potions to keep my face looking youthful and skin looking fresh.  I have a 3 and half-year-old son, and a fairly absent husband, therefore I am run ragged and have pretty much zero time to spend on pampering.  I need something that is quick and effective, and something I can rely on to help me to look after my skin.

So when I received a little package from Botanicals I was intrigued to see if their little pots could work some magic.

Have you heard of Botanicals?

All our products are hand-made in small batches to our own fully tested formulations, using only carefully selected, natural and organic ingredients.

They reflect our belief that nature knows best. And that organic body care products can be offered at reasonable prices.

I received samples of the Cleansing Melt, Skin Tonic and Facial Serum, all scented with Rose and Camellia – well if they worked as good as they smelt I would be on to a winner!

The Rose and Camellia took me back to a previous life when I worked in Export for a traditional manufacturer of soaps, lotions, talc and bath soaks.  I used to love walking through production when they were working on their Rose and Camellia products.  These products too,  smell wonderful but not overpowering.

So do they work? I absolutely loved the Cleansing Melt, it was easy to massage into my skin to cleanse and remove makeup, even my mascara, which can be a nightmare to remove, came away easily using a hot, wet cotton pad.  It left my skin feeling so soft and moisturised, and you hardly use any in the process.

Next to try was the Facial Serum – an anti-ageing serum that will hopefully “regenerate skin tissue and reduce fine lines and wrinkles”. I have to be honest, I am always rather sceptical about these kinds of claims. I do like the feel of my skin after I’ve used it, as a moisturiser and I guess time will tell if it reduces the sign of ageing. It and the tonic are oils rather than creams, but your skin doesn’t feel oily after use, just soft and scented.

Lastly, the Skin Tonic, I really liked this product too – it’s great for a Mum in a hurry, you can use it as a quick cleanser to start the day, again my skin has felt well hydrated using this product.

Trust me, at my age you need all the help you can get to try to hold on to a youthful appearance. I’m no beauty expert, I’m just a Mum, who is now slightly nearer to 50 than 40 (god how did that happen!) but I’ve been impressed with this range, I like the idea that the products are totally organic and not tested on animals, I like the feel of my skin, do I look younger?  I’m not sure, does my skin feel a bit brighter, yes.
