The last few weeks has been such a blur here – holiday, Halloween and now we’re heading to Bonfire Night! Our local display is always on the Saturday night nearest to Guy Fawkes Night, so this means that Daddy P is working, and actually with other things we have going on at the moment it wouldn’t work so well for Monkey and I either. So we’re off to visit friends and celebrate with them instead this year, and before we go we’ll also be celebrating Bonfire Night with Princes and their Hotdogs – a great, quick meal to warm us up before the big night. You may remember I used some of the hotdogs last week to make Mummified Hotdogs for Halloween too!
We each have our favourite hotdog toppings – Monkey likes them with grated cheese, Daddy P likes them with Ketchup and cheese and I go for a Mexican theme – with Guacamole, Salsa and Soured Cream.
Something we might try preparing this year, for after the big display, to warm us up is Princes Corned Beef Hash:
This will serve 4 and you will need
1 x 340g can Princes Corned Beef, diced
120g unsalted butter
1 large onion, chopped
900g potatoes, boiled and diced
oil for frying
Melt 40g of unsalted butter in a frying pan and fry one large chopped onion.
Cut 340g of Princes Corned Beef into 1cm cubes and add to the pan.
Empty the mixture into a bowl, add 900g of cooked and diced potato and another 40g of butter with black pepper.
Fry in a little oil and 40g of butter and then serve – sounds scrummy.
What will you be dishing up this Bonfire Night? What topping do you like on your hotdogs?
disclaimer: we were provided with hotdogs to enable us to complete this post.
Mmmm I do love these plastic hot dogs! I love mine with tomato sauce, mustard and onions! Yum 🙂
Uum mustard and onions – yummy
I’ve never had them with sour cream and guacamole
They tasted good!
I’m not a fan of hot dogs unless the sausages are burnt within an inch of being dust! But the boy is a fan with ketchup!
That made me giggle!
