My Magic Moments post this week is all about our weekend away last weekend. A rare treat, but especially so, as we spent it with Daddy P’s cousin and his wife. We spent a long weekend with them, at their holiday home in Hunstanton, Norfolk. They own a lovely house there, we had our own floor! My son loved running from room to room, getting lost. We were having family time in Norfolk.
Cousin’s T and R have 3 grown-up sons, so they are more than used to having a boy about the place. This fact alone, made it really easy for me to relax. If my son had a meltdown – they had seen it all before!
On Saturday morning we’d gone beach combing and discovered a Viking Ship. Well a ship wreck, but he was convinced it was a Viking Ship.
We’d returned home for lunch, the sun was coming out and we decided to head back to the seaside.
We were going in search of some Crazy Golf action but sadly it was all shut up. We’d forgotten we were in November!
We went for a lovely walk along the prom, watched the world go by, and somehow my son got an ice cream out of us! Family time in Norfolk has to involve an ice cream at the seaside, doesn’t it!
My son was having a wonderful time, he’s only met T and R a couple of times, but warmed to them immediately. So much so that it was R’s hand he wanted to hold rather than mine.
We’d had a lovely afternoon on the seafront and had worked up an appetite again. Time to head home for some train time before dinner.
Then he discovered K’Nex – I thought this was for older kids – but he loved it, quick adjustment to his birthday list needed!
We’d had a wonderful first full day in Hunstanton, great family time in Norfolk.
Sounds like a fab weekend
