Classic Winnie-the-Pooh app – a review

Classic Winnie-the-Pooh Egmont are celebrating!  Their Classic Winnie-the Pooh app has reached over 200,000 downloads since it’s release earlier this year. This app is priced at £1.99 and is available for the iPhone and iPad.

The first Winnie-the-Pooh story by A A Milne, that I ever read to Monkey was Winnie-the-Pooh and Some Bees and as that is currently available with the Classic Winnie-the-Pooh app, I was eager to see what Monkey thought.  He recognised the story straight away.  As he is only just 4 we picked the ‘read to me’ version, but for older children, you can select the ‘read myself’ option.

Classic Winnie-the-Pooh appWe enjoyed listening to Rufus Jones narrate the story and the famous black and white illustrations by E H Shephard have been brought to life in colour through the Classic Winnie-the-Pooh app.

You can also touch the various characters and watch them move in this great app for children aged 4-8 years.

With the Classic Winnie-the-Pooh app you have the opportunity to buy Pooh Goes Visiting and Gets Into a Tight Place, Tigger Comes to the Forest and has Breakfast and The World of Winnie the Pooh, for £1.99 each or you can buy the 3 as a bundle for £3.99.

The World of Winnie-the-Pooh which offers essential background to the stories:
– Read biographies of A.A.Milne and E.H.Shepard, together with original photos of them and their work
– Swipe the screen to see how scenes from Ashdown Forest and much more developed from the real world to sketches and E.H. Shepard’s final pieces of artwork
– See photos of Christopher Robin Milne’s toys and the Sussex countryside that inspired the tales of the Hundred Acre Wood

We’ve enjoyed using the Classic Winnie-the-Pooh app, it’s a lovely way to enjoy stories of one of our very favourite bears.

About Over 40 and a Mum to One

I'm a Mum in my late 40′s with a 7 year old son. I had a busy life in Export Sales before my Monkey came along, but decided to become a stay at home Mum once he arrived. Now I enjoy writing my own family lifestyle and travel blog. sharing the adventures that we have as Monkey makes his journey through school. We have a cat called Brewster who makes appearances and I’m a mad Ferrari Formula 1 fan, so that expect to hear about as each season unfolds. We love reviewing toys, games and books and would love the opportunity to look at anything that fits in with our family lifestyle. We are always out and about and offering an insight on the places we visit, with a passion for nature thrown in for good measure. If you like what you read please leave me a comment, I love to hear from people, and always try to reply. Enjoy the read.
