Last week I was toasting Monkey’s birthday thanks to Carling and Aldi. Well actually, I was toasting being a Mum for 4 years, that deserved a toast or two I thought!
When I was at our recent Bloggers Night In, we were offered some lovely alcoholic beverages from Aldi and Carling. I didn’t have a chance to try either of them on the night, but have since sampled the Carling Zest – Winter Berries.
Carling Zest – Winter Berries is labelled as a Winter Lager and only 2.8% ABV per 330ml bottle. The lager includes a blend of blackberries and raspberries. This is a limited edition flavour for the winter months.
I wasn’t quite sure what to expect from this lager, when I first tasted it, I was surprised, the flavour of the berries was stronger than I’d thought it would be. It wasn’t an instant winner for me, I needed to get used to the taste, but having drunk a few bottles now, I actually quite like it. It’s a bit different, I think this would be a great lager for the summer too with the summer fruits involved.
Pop down to your local supermarket and look out for the Carling Zest – Winter Berries, in packs of 4 and 12.
I have also been toasting Monkey’s birthday with an offering from Aldi, not somewhere I have previously associated with drinks.
I love Irish Cream Liqueur, it’s the only liqueur I like, so I was very interested to see what the Ballycastle from Aldi was like. Priced at £4.29 for a 70cl bottle, this looks very attractive for a Christmas purchase.
The verdict, I was very impressed with the Ballycastle and I will be popping into my local Aldi to buy some more very soon.
So I’ve been toasting Monkey’s birthday thanks to Carling and Aldi and I have to thank both companies for supporting our Bloggers Night In, and for introducing me to a couple of drinks I’ve not tried before.
Happy Christmas!
We bought Champagne from Aldi recently and it was really cheap but really good!
The Aldi drinks were really good and the carling looks good too.
I’m not a big Carling fan but do like the sound of those. I really love Aldi for cheap but good alcohol.
I’m a great believer in toasting your children’s birthdays 🙂 That Ballycastle looks yum!
Hubby really enjoyed the Carling, they weren’t quite my taste though
Happy Birthday to monkey and of course mummy is well deserve to have a drink or two.
