New Thomas & Friends books from Egmont

New Thomas & Friends books from Egmont – a review

One of Monkey’s best ever presents was a set of Thomas &  Friends books that his godmum gave him a couple of years ago.  They are well read and much loved.  We were very excited to learn that there were some new Thomas & Friends books from Egmont!

New Thomas & Friends books from EgmontThe first new Thomas & Friends books from Egmont we decided to look at was The Lost Puff.

New Thomas & Friends books from EgmontThe Lost Puff was released in January and is aimed at children aged 2 years and over.  Thomas is having fun with Paxton, they are messing around and not really listening to the Fat Controller.  He is trying to tell them about a damaged bit of track, but the steamie and his friend are having too much fun, until Thomas loses his puff!

New Thomas & Friends books from EgmontThe Lost Puff is a lovely tale, we follow Paxton the Diesel engine on his journey to find the puff to make Thomas go again.  Monkey giggled through this book, he knows more about how steam engines work than Paxton does!

We then looked at Scruff Gets Clean, our next new Thomas & Friends books from Egmont.

New Thomas & Friends books from EgmontScruff works alongside one of Monkey’s favourite steamies – Whiff, in the Waste Dump.  The Fat Controller decides that Scruff is in dire need of a new paint job.  Scruff likes the way he looks and is not happy to be having a makeover.  But once Victor has worked his magic, and Scruff looks like a brand new engine, he changes his mind.  Scruff wants to stay clean with sparkling paintwork – not ideal when you work in the Waste Dump.

DSC09381We follow Scruff on his journey, will he realise that it’s what’s on the inside that counts?

Monkey has loved these two new stories, as with all Thomas & Friends books, there is always a moral to the tale.  They are a great size for tucking into a handbag, back pack or suitcase.  We will be taking our’s to Spain later in the week.

Priced at £2.99 each, I love this series and would happily recommend to any fan of Thomas & Friends.  As well as the titles mentioned, Egmont also published Noisy Stafford, Kevin Meets Cranky and Gordon Runs Dry last month too.

disclaimer:  we were sent these books for the purpose of review, our comments remain our own honest opinions.

  1. We’re huge fans of this range of books and Bud has quite a collection. We don’t have any featuring Paxton though, and he’s a current favourite so I will look out for it.

I'd love to hear from you and try to reply to all comments
