Lurpak Cook's Range

Lurpak Cook’s Range – a review

Lurpak is a brand I instantly recognise as a Danish manufacturer of butter.  They’ve been around longer than I have! The company have just introduced Lurpak Cook’s Range – Clarified Butter, Cooking Liquid, Baking and Cooking Mist.

Lurpak Cook's Range

Each product has been specially created to act as a guiding force in the kitchen, to be a companion when conquering unchartered recipes or simply tweaking old favourites.

Lurpak Clarified Butter is 100% pure concentrated Lurpak butter used for searing, sautéing and creating rich sauces.  You can see Chez Maximka trying this product here.

Lurpak Cooking Liquid is the ideal balance of Lurpak butter and rapeseed oil. This blend ensures ingredients retain the delicious taste and golden finish that butter adds to a dish, whilst the inclusion of rapeseed oil prevents burning.

Lurpak Baking is a balanced blend of Lurpak butter and rapeseed oil ensuring a soft texture ready to mix straight from the fridge.

We were sent the Lurpak Cooking Mist to try out.  It’s a sprayable liquid blend of Lurpak butter and rapeseed oil.  It can be used to baste roasts as well as greasing baking tins.

Lurpak Cook's Range

We’d been sent some loving home baking kits from Bake at Home recently, and our first project was to make some Safari Cookies. I decided to use the Lurpak Cook’s Range Baking Mist to grease the baking tray.  I’ve not used a product like this before so I wasn’t sure what to expect.

The Cooking Mist sprays in a fairly concentrated area, so you don’t need to worry about it spraying all over your kitchen  surfaces.  I actually sprayed way more of the product than I really needed, so used a piece of kitchen towel to remove the excess.  Lesson learnt – this product goes a long way.  The Cooking Mist worked really well, I find cookies and biscuits can be a devil to remove from a baking tray after being in the oven.  But in this instance, the cookies were really easy to take off the baking tray, and the tray itself cleaned up well.

I’ve also used the Cooking Mist from the Lurpak Cook’s range to baste some chicken pieces I baked earlier in the week.  It left them with a nice crispy glaze, I just forgot to photograph them – aargh!  Trust me, it did the job well.

The Lurpak Cook’s Range was launched last month and is available from all the main supermarkets.

disclaimer:  we were sent this item in exchange for an honest review
