Pete the Cat I Love My White Shoes

Pete the Cat I Love My White Shoes – a book review

You all know that we love cats here, so when we opened a recent parcel, Monkey and I were interested to get reading.  Thanks to Harper Collins, we received Pete the Cat I Love My White Shoes, which was published in May.

Pete the Cat I Love My White Shoes

Pete is a blue (yes not black) cat who loves his new white shoes.  The book is written by Eric Litwin and illustrated by James Dean.

We follow Pete and his new White shoes as he goes on an adventure.  He’s quite a cool sort of cat, and enjoys singing as he walks.  Pete the Cat I Love My White Shoes is a great book for talking about colours and how materials can change when introduced to different coloured objects.

Pete’s shoes don’t stay white for long – a typical male! This did make us laugh, as I’ve practically given up on putting Monkey in anything white.  What happens to Pete’s shoes when he walks in some strawberries?  Oh no Pete’s walked in some mud!Pete the Cat I Love My White Shoes

I really liked the discussions that led on from reading Pete the Cat I Love My White Shoes.  It makes children think about consequences to actions.

If you want to find out more about Pete the Cat; he has his own website, with a free song, activity sheet and more besides.  We’ll certainly be looking out for Pete the Cat and his Four Groovy Buttons which is released on 3rd July 2014.

disclaimer:  we were sent this book as a thank you for hosting the How to Catch a Star giveaway recently.  I decided to review it anyway.
