Having Scooby-Doo fun at the seaside

When you get asked if you’d like to sample some new ice cream, what do you do?  Well it was a no brainer here!  Yes!  Where and when?  Monkey and I have been having Scooby-Doo fun at the seaside thanks to Beechdean Ice Creams.  We were invited to Butlins in Bognor Regis to try some new Scooby-Doo ice creams.  Some times the life of a blogger is hard, someone had to accept the challenge.

We set off bright and early last Thursday on a lovely sunny day and headed for West Sussex.  As Tina from The Soup Dragons Says, lives in the area she’d invited us to stay over.  Monkey was very excited, we’d be having Scooby-Doo fun at the seaside and having a sleepover!

I’ve never been to a Butlins resort so it was nice to get a feel for the Bognor Regis site as a visitor.  The four of us spent some time looking around the fun fair before the event began and we spotted this in the car park.  It might be fair to see that Tina and I, having grown up with Scooby-Doo were more excited than the boys at this stage!

We were having Scooby-Doo fun at the seaside, and it was time to meet the team from Beechdean and see what they had in store for us.  After a bit of lunch it was time to try some great Scooby Snacks in the form of the newly launched Beechdean Scooby-Doo Ice Creams.  These are available in Chocolate, Honeycomb and White Chocolate with Strawberry.

Monkey was eager to taste test these new ice creams and unsurprisingly he went for the Chocolate version.  It didn’t last long.  He was a bit shy when the team asked him for his opinion, but the chocolate face said it all.

These Scooby-Doo ice creams are available from Toys R Us, and Independents and are priced from 90p, and they are sure to go down a treat!

Beechdean are celebrating the launch of this range of ice creams with a nationwide ‘Scooby Selfie’ competition; offering the chance to win a family break to Butlins with spending money.  Every entrant will also receive a special Butlins online £20 discount code too.  Just visit the website here to enter.

It’s also worth noting that the Scooby-Doo Mystery Machine Ice Cream Van that we spotted will be touring the country over the summer with an interactive photo booth. You  can find it at Odds Farm near High Wycombe (a great day out by the way – we love it there) on 5th August, 7th August at Wendover Woods (why not do the Gruffalo Trail while you are there), 12th August at Drayton Manor, 28th August at Bucks County Show and 31st August at Brands Hatch!

Having Scooby-Doo fun at the seaside for us included tickets to see the Scooby-Doo show in Butlins.  Monkey had Tina and I in stitches.  He was a bit unsure about going to see the show.  You all know what he’s like.  Well there he was, joining in with the show. He’s behind you! He’s behind you!  Needless to say, he loved it, and it’s well worth going to if you are lucky enough to be staying at Butlins.  Unfortunately my camera just didn’t like the lighting and my photos are all blurred.

disclaimer:  we were given a Scooby-Doo goodie bag and tickets to the Scooby-Doo show in exchange for an honest review.
