Week 18 of PODcast‘s linky The Alphabet Photography Project. What on earth to pick for R? I thought of Roar, Ronda, River, and then it hit me when I thought about Red. My The Alphabet Photography Project R is for Racing (and Red).
Being a Ferrari fan, yes sorry, I’m going to inflict you all again! The last few months have been a blur and I’ve realised that I haven’t even written my Grand Prix and Testing Day posts yet – both from July!! Eek, I really have so much to catch up on.
I love Racing, Motor Racing; especially Formula One, and I love the Red Ferrari’s. It’s a passion that I’ve had from birth. Mum blames it on the petrol fumes from the paddock at Brands Hatch that she endured when she was pregnant with me. It’s part of who I am, it’s a part of my childhood, it will hopefully be something that Monkey loves too.
It’s on trips to Silverstone that I wish I had a big flash camera like my brothers. His shots are amazing, mine are very much pot luck. My lens isn’t long enough, my shutter speed is painfully slow. So to get a shot like this one of Fernando Alonso racing is quite a thing. Yes, the definition could be so much better, but for my little bridge camera to catch him at speed at all – I’m happy.
Watching the Racing, listening to the engines roar, well that was until the hair dryers they’ve all installed this year as an excuse for an engine. I’ll leave it there, before you all fall asleep. You have to be at a race meeting to really get racing, to really feel it. I love it, the buzz, the crowd, the passions. The joy when it all goes right, the sorrow when it doesn’t!
It certainly didn’t go well for Kimi Raikkonen in the second Ferrari this year – I was gutted! But that’s Racing, you never know for certain which way it will go. A bit like life really, ups and downs.
Sounds like you had a great day. Great choice for R!
It’s a favourite for me as you know.
I love racing cars too, but haven’t been to a race yet! We have a mini model just like this one.
If you get a chance to go to Abu Dhabi in a few years with your little man – then go x
Red always seems like a good colour for a racing car. I may not be into the racing, but I can appreciate the sound of a fine tuned motor and the design of an engine. Nice! #AlphabetPhoto
Yes, red ones are certainly the best.
My ex boyf is so into F1 that I got hooked as well. We separated but my love of this sport stayed! Love fast cars =) #alphabetphoto
Glad you still like it.
Lovely post, your passion is wonderful 🙂
Thank you
Great photos, it must be so exciting being so close to the action
It is wonderful, it makes it such a special visit
Had to be your R really 🙂 It must be amazing to watch a race live! #alphabetphoto
The atmosphere is just fab, nothing quite like it.
What a fantastic r, I didn’t grow up on F1 but my wife has got in into over the years. Your pic of Alonso is fab tbh. I’ve been to Silverstone for a family fun day and saw a Lotus do a doughnut on the start line which was awesome tbh. #alphabetproject
