Learning to read #MorningWin

Monkey is amazing me on an almost daily basis at the moment; his confidence has come on no end since starting school.  I’ll be writing more about our recent review trip to Spain soon, but he was awesome while we were away.  He joined in, made friends, tried new things and not one single quibble, meltdown – just a happy little boy having fun in a new environment.  Learning to read is another area of progress that I’ve mentioned recently. This is the sight that greeted me as I made breakfast this morning.

Learning to read

I can’t remember if Monkey was given these bricks for his first or second birthday, but for however long he’s had them, they’ve had one use – construction.  He’s built towers with them, and knocked them down.  Today for the first time, he was lining the blocks up and reading the letters and numbers.  He was making up very strange words, but it was amazing, wonderful, my little boy has really decided that this is the time to start learning to read.

What better way to start the day than by seeing my little boy taking his first steps into a whole new world.  A world where he can read his books, read a menu and decide what he wants to eat, read and maybe write his own birthday present list. He is starting a journey of discovery and I am so excited to be watching it.  What better #MorningWin could there be?

To help celebrate Monkey’s progress we’ve recently received some belVita Breakfast Crunchy biscuits to try out thanks to BritMums.

Learning to Read

We all love these belVita Breakfast Crunchy biscuits.  They came in really handy when we were away when Monkey wasn’t so keen on the cereals on offer at the hotel.  I’m particularly fond of the Apricot variety with some plain greek yoghurt for breakfast.  It’s goes without saying that Daddy P prefers the Choc Chip with a nice cup of tea!

  1. It is so exciting to see kids start to learn to read, especially when they start to really get interested. I loved this with Mr Z! Now Mr T is just starting a little bit.
The Belvita looks great too 🙂

I'd love to hear from you and try to reply to all comments
