The Jungle Crew

The Jungle Crew – book review

I’m always on the look out for new books for Monkey and when ones pops through the letterbox with a Chimpanzee on the front cover, my attention is immediately grabbed!  We received the lovely hardback picture book The Jungle Crew by Madeleine Rogers recently.

The Jungle Crew

The Jungle Crew is one of a 3 part series of picture books written and illustrated by the lady behind children’s designer Mibo and is published through Button Books.  The paper is really is high quality, making it great for younger children. In this particular book we get to meet all sorts of jungle animals, from chimpanzees to tree frogs.

Even a family favourite gets a mention in this book, we had a couple of Macaws when I was little and they’ve always fascinated me.

The text is simple but informative and led to lots of discussion with Monkey.  The books are aimed at children aged 4-7 years of age, so perfect for a nearly 5 year old Monkey.

The illustrations are just wonderful.

There’s a little surprise with this series of books too, when you reach the end of the story there is a large envelope containing 6 cards of 3D characters to assemble.

You just pop the characters out of the sheets, fold where needed and glue as instructed to create your own Jungle Crew.  Let the adventures commence!

Monkey did struggle a bit to pop the animals out from the sheets, so I did this for him as we didn’t want to rip any of them.  He decided that they made great finger puppets although you can use them to create your own 3D scenes.

The Jungle Crew retails for £12.99 but is currently on special offer on Amazon for £10.22 – see my affiliate link below.  If you are looking for something a little bit different this Christmas, then this book could be just the thing.

disclaimer:  we were sent this book in exchange for an honest review.
