Green Toys Train

Green Toys Train

For this months Eco Friendly Toy Tester review I will be looking at the Green Toys Train. We received the Blue and Red train, there is also a Pink and Green version.

Green Toys Train

The Green Toys Train is aimed at children aged 2 years and over, and as will all Green Toys products, there are no nasties, it is made from 100% recycled plastic milk bottles and is dishwasher safe!

The set comprises an engine, a carriage with removable roof, an open wagon and two driver/conductor bears.

Something I love about this range of toys is the packaging – it is kept to the bare (excuse the pun! minimum!

As with all Green Toys items there are always lovely details to be found, as the Green Toys Train is no exception.

The engine, carriage and wagon can be linked together or played with as separate items.

Green Toys Train

This train is so tactile, young children are going to love it.  It’s robust, it will last, the couplings won’t snap.  I was interested to see if it was too basic for a very nearly (yes this time next week!) 5 year old Monkey, or not.

What was I thinking, it’s a train!  He loved it at first sight.  The Monkey Express has been taking trips around our living room for a while now.  Sometimes the train is for sightseeing passengers, sometimes it’s a cattle wagon, other times it’s a freight train.

Considering how many variations on trains we have in this house, the Green Toys Train is the first one that Monkey can put things in.  I’m sure it won’t be long until he realises that the open wagon can carry ‘rubble’ to and from his building site.

The Green Toys train retails for £29.99, as I’ve mentioned on other reviews for this range, this is an investment toy.  It is going to last and can be very well-loved and it will live to travel another day.  We’re big fans here.

disclaimer: we were sent this item in exchange for an honest review

About Over 40 and a Mum to One

I'm a Mum in my late 40′s with a 7 year old son. I had a busy life in Export Sales before my Monkey came along, but decided to become a stay at home Mum once he arrived. Now I enjoy writing my own family lifestyle and travel blog. sharing the adventures that we have as Monkey makes his journey through school. We have a cat called Brewster who makes appearances and I’m a mad Ferrari Formula 1 fan, so that expect to hear about as each season unfolds. We love reviewing toys, games and books and would love the opportunity to look at anything that fits in with our family lifestyle. We are always out and about and offering an insight on the places we visit, with a passion for nature thrown in for good measure.
