Joining in with TheBoyAndMe and her linky 365 Project A Photo A Day, Every Day, For A Year! Project 365 2015 Week 1 Days 1-3.
Thursday 1st January – Day 1
Monkey had slept through all the fireworks thankfully. I’d drunk a little too much red wine so wasn’t in any great rush to see what 2015 had in store for us! We had a lazy morning and then I prepared Roast Duck for our New Years Day meal. It was lush and a personal favourite. We Skyped Granny and Gramps to welcome them into the New Year and had fun making things with copious amounts of Lego.
Friday 2nd January – Day 2
We went for a nice walk to our local post office so I could post a few packages and went lorry spotting along the way as you do. Finally persuaded Monkey to write his name in birthdays cards for two friends whose party we are going to tomorrow. Then it was play time and a bit of cross stitching for Mummy. A tea time ice cream treat as Mummy had forgotten to replenish the yogurt stocks!
Saturday 3rd January – Day 3
So an invitation to a Pirates, Superheroes and Princesses party for Monkey’s NCT buddies Miss B and Master S obviously meant that Monkey would only wear his new digger top! I was really anxious about how he would cope, lots of kids he wouldn’t know in a strange place with disco and entertainment – not an ideal mix for my reserved little boy. Yes, he was a limpet for most of the time. But he loved helping me tidy up for our friends and had a great time playing balloon football with me. I’d love him to be a party animal, but it doesn’t look like happening any time soon. But he said he had a lovely time.
Home for the afternoon and snack time apparently means eating a whole carrot, not peeled and eaten in the same way most of us would eat corn on the cob. Got to love him.
Think getting up for school on Tuesday is going to be a big challenge in this house. Just noticed 3 days of red tops!
Happy new year! I love all the sprinkles on that very nice looking ice cream 🙂
He does love his sprinkles
Happy New Year! He looks like he is enjoying that ice cream x
Oh yes, always a winner here
Happy new year 🙂 not sure I could eat ice cream in all this cold weather although all the sprinkles do look appealing!! x
This boy would eat an ice cream in a blizzard
happy new year! Monkey will soon enjoy party!
and to you Eileen
Ooh nice ice cream treat.
Parties are so hard. You just never know what they’re going to be like. Sometimes N gets involved and other times he doesn’t until right near the end. I don’t think he’s keen on discos though – loves dancing usually, but dislikes the loud noise, especially with a whole load of excited screaming children!
The funny thing is he has spent this afternoon recreating the party – complete with food and music.
You can never have too many red tops! The ice-cream looks yummy with the sprinkles. Wonder if I’ve got some in the freezer …
It goes down well here, and red is a favourite colour
Ohh I never think of having Ice cream this time of year…
Fab photos x
I don’t really but Monkey would eat them every day of the year if he had his way
happy new year. Roast duck sounds lovely
and to you Angela – it was scrummy
Sounds like a great start to the year with duck and ice cream treats!
It certainly was
I think Monday is going to be tough for us when we go back to school and college. Eeek! Lovely photos. Happy New Year to you!
We have this to come tomorrow – failed miserably at getting out early today
Impressed with the way he eats carrots! I can’t get my kids to eat carrots full stop. Both my eldest and my daughter used to be clingy and shy at parties, but they grew out of it, hopefully Monkey will too.
He will eat carrots in any form til they are coming out of his ears – potatoes are a very different story.
Love the balance of ice cream and carrots! Happy new year 🙂
Yes, he does eat his veg so I can’t complain
Sounds like the perfect lazy New Years Day! Love the look of that ice cream too 😀 Happy New Year to you all!
Monkey certainly liked it
Not looking forward to going back to school either and our house has been a Lego construction zone for days.
Yes, we tried getting up earier today – uum, left the house at 10am – tomorrow is not going to be pretty!
I love a winter ice cream
So does Monkey – doesn’t appeal to me though
im impressed he will eat a carrot like that . I struggle to get J to even try things
He loves carrots – raw or cooked – he would live off them given half a chance.
Lovely cheerful photos! I wish we had duck for new year’s eve. I cooked a 3-bird roast from Lidl, and it wasn’t special at all, never again. Might do the duck for Russian Christmas on the 7th. Happy new year to you and Monkey, Mary!
It was lovely, I’ve never tried one of those 3 bird roasts. Hope your Russian Christmas Day is less stressful for you x
we cant all be party animals, one day he may surprise you. The ice cream looks very colourful with the decorations on. When my kids were wee and we went for their weekly treat the girls picked a 10p mix up ans son picked a carrot every time – and would eat it unpeeled on the way home. ( that and bonio dog biscuits)
Yes, very true
oh love a bit of yummy ice cream 🙂
So does Monkey – can you tell?
Great photos, I love the look of the ice cream =)
Thanks – it went down well – can you tell?
You sound like a lovely mummy! Mine are party shy too but always seem to enjoy themselves.
Thank you – I’m far from perfect though – lol
That ice cream looks delicious, if only I had some in my freezer, I fancy some now lol
We always have a secret stash here for special treats
Glad that he enjoyed the party. How funny he is in red everyday, must be a favorite colour x
Yes it is, just Mummy normally gets him to wear different colours!
That ice-cream looks awesome, I’m sending Mr. TBaM to the freezer right now!
Thanks for linking up to Project 365 and I’m so pleased to have you back.
It did go down well with Monkey
Funnily enough, H was quite clingy at parties for a while, then suddenly something seemed to click and she started to forget I was there! Next weekend is the second one where I leave her. LEAVE. Erk! x
I will be a mess when that happens I’m sure.
Nothing wrong with an ice-cream treat!!
Glad he enjoyed the party. I always found it the ‘party animals’ that were the trouble makers and the quieter ones were the ones that got re-invited. 🙂
Fingers crossed then
