Monkey meets the Honey Monster

Monkey meets the Honey Monster

On Saturday I took Monkey into Oxford using the Park and Ride – a trip on a bus is a rare treat for him.  We had a special date with someone I remember from my own childhood as Monkey meets the Honey Monster.

The Honey Monster is touring the Midlands to share some of his yummy Honey Monster Puffs – they have 20% more honey than the cereal I grew up with!

I wasn’t sure how Monkey would react to the Honey Monster when we saw him in the Westgate shopping centre.  I’d explained that he was a nice monster, not a scary one.  But Monkey still wasn’t totally convinced.

We’d arranged to meet up with Galina from Chez Maximka and her little boy Eddie. Would Eddie be a bit braver than Monkey?  Whilst the Honey Monster was having a break I tried to prepare my little man for his meeting, all seemed to be going well at this point.

But when Monkey meets the Honey Monster for real, then Mummy has to come too!

Bless him, he just wasn’t sure.  But there were lots of other children who loved meeting the Honey Monster, and I obviously had to get in on the act.  I am a big kid after all!

After all the excitement of meeting the Honey Monster for real, it was time for the real test. What did we think of the Honey Monster Puffs themselves?

Monkey Meets the Honey Monster

The Honey Monster Puffs are just as light and fluffy as I remember, and even though they have 20% more honey in them these days, they didn’t taste overally sweet in my opinion. They are a great source of fibre, contain no artificial colourings, preservatives or flavours and are also low in salt and fat.

So will you be #funmonsterfied over the half term holidays?

  1. My daughter love Honey monster! We are going to meet him on 1 march if everything went well! Looking forward to meet him!

  2. Aww Monkey’s so cute hugging a mini-Monster. I suppose being hugged by a big hairy creature could be too overwhelming. And I do love the photo of you with the Honey Monster.

I'd love to hear from you and try to reply to all comments
