A new house for Mothers Day

Did that get your attention?  A New house for Mothers Day – are we moving house?  Sadly not, but I am now advertising for some tenants to move into a plush new residence, purpose-built, a room with a view.  What is she talking about?  Well, regular readers will know of my love of hedgehogs and the lack of them in my garden these days.  I’ve wanted a Hedgehog House for ages as the one Monkey and I built wasn’t really man enough for the job.  Well, the team at Find Me A Gift recognise that Mothers Day isn’t just about chocolates and flowers.  A new house for Mothers Day here means I now have an Igloo Hedgehog House!

Yes, I really did squeal with delight when I opened my delivery from Fine Me A Gift, to discover this lovely Igloo Hedgehog House.  I’m a big fan of Wildlife World and their range, so I know the quality of this product will be great.

The instructions advise to site the house on a bed of dried leaves, luckily we have plenty of those right now.  To put it close to vegetation and cover it with leaves and twigs for insulation.

I want Monkey to help with the maintenance of our new Hedgehog House, so I’ll let him cover the top with leaves over the weekend.  But Brewster was impressed with the newest addition to our garden.

I love gifts that are a little bit different and this one is perfect for me for Mothers Day. Find Me A Gift have a Pinterest page dedicated to gift ideas for Mums, and even if you’re already sorted for Mothers Day, there are lots of great alternatives for Mum’s for birthdays or Easter!

Hedgehogs are hibernating at the moment but I’m keeping everything crossed that our little home will have some residents later in the year.  The rent is very reasonable, the view is pleasant and the landlords would like nothing better than to give nature a home this year.  Keep your fingers crossed!

About Over 40 and a Mum to One

I'm a Mum in my late 40′s with a 7 year old son. I had a busy life in Export Sales before my Monkey came along, but decided to become a stay at home Mum once he arrived. Now I enjoy writing my own family lifestyle and travel blog. sharing the adventures that we have as Monkey makes his journey through school. We have a cat called Brewster who makes appearances and I’m a mad Ferrari Formula 1 fan, so that expect to hear about as each season unfolds. We love reviewing toys, games and books and would love the opportunity to look at anything that fits in with our family lifestyle. We are always out and about and offering an insight on the places we visit, with a passion for nature thrown in for good measure.
