Stowe through the lens of a 5 year old

Stowe through the lens of a 5 year old

A few weeks ago we headed over to one of our favourite places with Redpeffer and her family.  Monkey wanted to take his camera and so the idea of Monkey Moments was born. Today I’m sharing his viewpoint with you –  Stowe through the lens of a 5 year old.

The photos may not be perfect, but I love the fact that he enjoys taking photographs, recording his day, having fun.  How wonderful to live in a digital age where he can instantly see the results of his snapping.  Not like his mother, who had to wait ages for a film to be sent away to be developed and printed out.

It made me chuckle that the first photo taken at Stowe through the lens of a 5 year old was of construction vehicles!

So Monkey isn’t it!  Snapping the machines that have been working on new pathways from the restaurant down to the main entrance of the gardens.

It was the first time his Redpeffer friends had visited Stowe and they were in charge of the map.  Monkey was offering his recommendations of favourite routes.

Time to chase after his friends as they headed for Monkey’s favourite wooden bridge.  Wait for me!

Better check those wellies are ready, just in case a muddy puddle can be found!

No puddles to be found, but some rather interesting bark on a tree to be snapped.

A favourite bridge to be crossed.

Mummy what are those swans doing?  They’re looking for food Monkey.

Time to look up through the trees.

Then down to the ground at fallen leaves.  I’d dearly love to know how he managed this shot – I love it!

Spotting Temples along our walk is always a fun activity.

It would appear that my little civil engineer in the making, has a fascination for drain covers.  Something I’d not spotted before!

The clouds were starting to look rather ominous as we looked across the lake.

No swans here Monkey.

Lets go this way.

I can spot some tracks!

Mummy turn around!  I want to take your photo.

Your turn Daddy!

Now that does look interesting.  You can’t beat a good stick when you’re 5 years old.

A good pile of leaves is always an interesting distraction too.

Monkey spies with his little eyes, his little Redpeffer buddy.

Stowe

Time for some more exploration – looking down at the stone work …..

Stowe

and up at something that typical amused a 5 year old!

Stowe

Time for his Redpeffer buddy to have a little pit stop – his 4 year old legs needed a rest.

Stowe

The kids resting place was right next to the golf course, which held it’s one fascination for my little snapper. From the tee markers …….

to the bunkers.  Mummy why is there a sandpit there?

Stowe

The kids were all starting to flag a bit, so I set them a challenge.  Can you find a lion?  They were off.

Stowe

Of course Monkey knew exactly where they needed to look.

Stowe

But his 5 year old mind worked wonders again and we were treated to a view I’ve never looked at before! Boys and bottoms – what more can I say.

Stowe

Cheese!

Stowe

What on earth are Mummy and Iona doing?

Stowe

It certainly looked as if Monkey’s Redpeffer buddies had enjoyed themselves.

We’d all had a great time, out in the fresh air on a Sunday afternoon.  My photos look rather different, but I thought it would be fun to show this post of Stowe through the lens of a 5 year old.  I hope you agree.

  2. Oh what a fab idea! I’ve taken some cracking selfies on mummy’s ipad!! Great photos – the golden bottom made me laugh!! X

  3. Monkey’s definitely got an eye for photography, it looks like he had a fab time running around with his friends. Stowe seems to be the perfect place to run free and take photos with friends. Monkey and Redpeffer’s two look like they’re having a great time exploring together. Thanks for linking up with Country Kids.

  4. What a lovely idea! I love seeing the photos from a child’s perspective!! 🙂 Hilarious that he’s focussed in on the construction vehicles — my boys would have taken lots of shots of those too!! What is it with little boys and diggers?!! #CountryKids

Like that you and Iona obviously colour coordinated for the day!

  6. Oh I love it! I can’t wait until LP starts taking photos with purpose and it’s great to get an insight into their imaginations. Such a lovely post x

  7. Love this, and he took some fabulous shots! You can see how much fun they were all having 🙂 #countrykids

  8. What a great idea and Monkey has taken some great photos too! My son loves his camera but tends to just take photos of anything and everything until the battery runs out and the memory card is full – I’ll have to send him round for some tips!

  9. Brilliant! Some great images in there and I had spotted his fondness for drains, did make me smile. And of course the bottoms, there has to be bottoms doesn’t there

I'd love to hear from you and try to reply to all comments
