The Alphabet Photography Project N is for Nerja

The Alphabet Photography Project – L, M and N #alphabetphoto

Week 14 of PODcast‘s linky The Alphabet Photography Project and I’m playing catch up with L and M and N for this week! Last year my L was Lego, my M was Me, Mummy, Monkey and Mary all in one photo and N for New!  What can I come up with for this year?

First up I’ve decided that The Alphabet Photography Project L is for Lanhydrock, having visited this wonderful National Trust property when we were on holiday in Cornwall last month.

I’m going to write a post up all about our visit, but let’s just say that if you are ever close by, you really should visit.  The house has so much to interest children and the grounds are extensive!  We loved it there.

My The Alphabet Photography Project M is for Mosaic.

The Alphabet Photography Project M is for Mosaic

I’ve been fascinated by mosaics since I was a child and this particular example is one of many which can be seen at the old Roman city of Itálica, close to the village of Santiponce near Seville.  I visited the site with my parents in December 2007, its vast and so much was still to be excavated when I visited.  It’s certainly on my list of places to show Monkey when he learns about Ancient Rome at school.  You are able to walk amongst the ruins and really get close to the wonderful mosaics.  Well worth a visit and it’s free to visit! At some point I shall write-up a post about it!

To bring me up to date with everyone this week, my The Alphabet Photography Project N is for Nerja.

This photo was taken on 12th April 2010 – are you impressed with my memory?  It was my birthday, my first birthday as a Mummy.  We were visiting my parents on Monkey’s first holiday.  We’d taken the 24 hour crossing from Portsmouth to Santander and then driven down the length of Spain in one day – you we were rather mad.  But once rested, we enjoyed lots of family time and when my birthday arrived we decided to explore Nerja for the first time.

Being April, the streets and beaches were quiet, but it was a lovely sunny day and enjoyed wandering down alleyways.  I can imagine that in the midst of August it would be heaving with tourists, but on a sunny April day, there was plenty of room to move about freely and explore.  We should return at some point.

What would you pick for your N photo subject?
