The B&W Photography Project Week 42 with PODCast and this week I’m looking at stonework with you. I love castles, they’ve always fascinated me and I’m always on the look out for interesting stonework.
I’m forever fascinated by the stonework in castles, churches and cathedrals. The detail and precision of a bygone age. The skills that must have been involved in creating these fortresses of worship and war is just amazing. Well, it is to me anyway.
On a recent visit to Kenilworth Castle I was in my element, wandering through the ruins, imagining what each room would once have looked liked, thinking of light streaming through windows that are no longer there. Wondering what stories the walls could tell. Who was involved in making this archway, how long did it take, who got to look through the grille?
I love doing the same Mary such a lovely way to spend the day! 🙂 x
I love the symmetry of this photo, fab capture #bwphotoproject
This is lovely!
I always love to think about the people who once looked out of the window, how they looked, dressed what it would have been like to live back in the day it was occupied, lovely picture and detail #bwphotoproject
I find stonework in old buildings fascinating too.
Love the different arches in your photo. xx
There’s something rather fabulous about stonework isn’t there. I do especially love it in monochrome too, really brings out the contrast. Great photo and thank you so much for joining in x
I find castles fascinating too and love to know all the history behind them. I love the way the black and white really brings out all the detail in the stonework in this photo.
wonderful photo . I love the B&W effect; it gives it all a bit of texture and contrast.
Thank you
