The B&W Photography Project Week 45

The B&W Photography Project Week 45 #bwphotoproject

The B&W Photography Project Week 45 with PODCast and I’ve been delving through old photos again.  This time we’re in Sussex, at Bodiam Castle in May 2009.  It’s a wonderfully moated castle and it’s somewhere we really must take Monkey to at some point.

The B&W Photography Project Week 45

I love the fact that this photo draws you through the doorways to the moat beyond.  I do love my stonework and the arches are just wonderful. Imagine how many people have walked through that doorway over the years.

It was a lovely sunny day when Daddy P and I visited and the castle was full of children having adventures.  A castle with a moat is something all children envisage isn’t it and with the drawbridge down Bodiam Castle has a wonderful facade.  We spotted a steam train running nearby too – note to self – family outing this summer!

Have you been?

  1. I love the way the doorway frames the shot and the glimpse of the moat through the door – just beautiful in black and white 🙂

  2. there are so many places i want to visit in the UK but by the time I’ve seen the kids and the family, I’ve run out of time and have to leave

  3. Lovely shot and I’ve never been to Bodiam Castle
It’s great how the doorway leads you to another, completely different (and unexpected) scene behind it. The shadowing is great in this photo which makes it really work in B&W
