Project 365 2015 Week 21

Project 365 2015 Week 21

I’ve been joining in with Project 365 since the start of 2014, and been inspired by The Boy and Me to make sure I take a Photo A Day, Every Day, For A Year! She needs to take a break from the linky to concentrate on family and work, so a few of us are looking after the project for a while and running it as a blog hop – please feel free to join in. Project 365 2015 Week 21 Days 137-143.

Sunday 17th May – Day 137

Project 365 2015 Week 21

We were invited to Diggerland down in Kent for a review trip and to say that Monkey loved it would be an understatement.  He was in heaven, he still wanted Daddy P to go on everything with him, but he didn’t stop smiling all day.  Even the weather decided to play nicely.  It was certainly worth the long drive.

Monday 18th May – Day 138

Project 365 2015 Week 21

What a difference a day makes! Today has just been awful.  It was swimming report release day for Monkey, so I was down at the leisure centre from 10am, he’s moving up to Stage 2 – woop, woop! We had to go on the waiting list for a place and from leaving the centre to getting to my car I got absolutely soaked from the waist down.

We heard later in the day we’d got the day we wanted but not the time.  Not sure what we’ll do with mealtimes now we have swimming at 5.05 but we’ll figure it out next week.  We’d promised Monkey he could have a JCB Fastrac Tractor if he got to Stage 2, but after Diggerland he asked for an Excavator instead!  One Amazon order placed.

Tuesday 19th May – Day 139

Project 365 2015 Week 21

Was meant to spend the day with one of my friends and her twin little ones, but she wasn’t well, so I cracked on with some work.  Monkey had a good day at school, then we went off to his last Stage 1 swimming lesson.  Luckily, I learnt from a friend that we should have been offered a certificate and badge.  So we picked those up before the lesson.  So proud of this little boy.  He’s achieved something his mother never did as a child.

You might also have noticed that I announced that Orchard Toys will be my sponsor for BritMums Live this year.  I’m really thrilled and it’s been hard to keep it quiet over the last few weeks.

Wednesday 20th May – Day 140

Project 365 2015 Week 21

I heard this morning that someone is in the fight of their life at the moment, it came as a total shock and just hit me.  Life is so fragile, so precious, and I just couldn’t wait until Monkey finished school so I could just hug the most important person in my life.  Cancer is just the vilest disease – fact.

Thursday 21st May – Day 141

Project 365 2015 Week 21

The sun appears to be back, I cracked on with more work as desperately want to not turn the laptop on next week and then we’re off to Spain.  Took a few moments to enjoy some colour in the garden before picking Monkey up from school.

He was full of chat on the way home.  He’d help make some bird feeders at school and was giving me all the details.  I love it when he actually shares information about his day voluntarily.

Friday 22nd May – Day 142

Project 365 2015 Week 21

Monkey went off for his last day at school before the holidays and I went into town to do some shopping and pick up some Euros for our trip to Spain.  I’d been given a voucher for our local independent jewellers for my birthday and I went in search of a ring to replace the one I lost in Kent last year.  Sadly the opal one I tried wasn’t available to order in a small enough size (my fingers and wrists are child sized) so I picked this one instead.  I still have some pennies left to spend.

Monkey was just glad it was the end of school, he’s got a cold which means he’s been really restless at night.  Lie in for the two of us in the morning!

Saturday 23rd May – Day 143

Project 365 2015 Week 21

After a few broken nights sleep with a cold I was hoping Monkey would give us both a lie in this morning, but no – he was playing rockets at 6.30am.  Sustenance was in order in the form of some rather scrumptious pain au chocolat for breakfast.  Then it was out into the garden.  Our sunflowers, tomatoes, peppers and sweet peas needed planting out and some container veg needed thinning out.  Monkey was in charge of watering.  Then he helped me tidy up the shrubs in the garden.

Our Redpeffer friends are coming down this afternoon for the weekend, so we’ll be having lots of fun together.  Happy Bank Holiday weekend one and all.

Can relate to the child-size wrist and fingers thing – my arm was too thin to take my blood pressure the other day and the doctor had to get the children’s one out!
