The Alphabet Photography Project X is for Xanthic

Week 24 of PODcast‘s linky The Alphabet Photography Project and this week we are up to X. Always a joy to reach this letter!  Last year I was a smarty pants and went for  Xenodochium don’t you know. What on earth to pick this year? Well, I obviously resorted to google and my The Alphabet Photography Project X is for Xanthic.

The Alphabet Photography Project X is for Xanthic

The Alphabet Photography Project X is for Xanthic – meaning: yellow or yellowish. As soon as I spotted the word and meaning I knew I could use this photo of one of the beautiful flower arrangements from BritMums Live.  Aren’t these yellow roses just beautiful.

Then almost as soon as I’d uploaded this shot, I thought of these flowers too.

Sunflowers will forever remind me and so many others of Elspeth and of my blogging friend Jenny. Jenny was so inspiring at the weekend, she’s had surgery two weeks before, has been through unimaginable pain, grief, and worry but she made it to BritMums.  Not only did she make it, but she stood in front of us all and read her Dear Elspeth post.  She did it without crying, unlike pretty much every other blogger in the room.  When we’d spotted sunflowers in The Hub earlier, it was fate.  They were meant to be on the table when Jenny got back to her seat, so that sorted.  That made her cry, and we’re sorry for that.  Blogging brings us many things, but friendships are the most valuable.
