LOGO Billionaire – review and giveaway

Every month I have the girls over for a curry night, a chance for us to catch up without the kids.  A while ago I added something new to a curry night – some board game action.  It would appear that our friend A is rather hot when it comes to these games and has beaten us all on a number of occasions.  Would our luck chance as we played LOGO Billionaire recently?

LOGO Billionaire

LOGO Billionaire is another great board game from Drumond Park, aimed at those aged 8 years and over, which can be played with 2-6 players.

LOGO Billionaire

The game comprises a game board and spinner, 6 play pieces, 96 brand cards, 24 Newsflash cards, 27 Risky Business cards, 102 bank notes of various denominations, 6 Takeover tokens, 6 Owner Certificates and a set of instructions.

5 of us were gathered for our monthly get together and there was some serious competition afoot.  Who could challenge A, could someone steal her winners crown?

We set the board up and read the instructions.  There are two ways to play LOGO Billionaire – with the Executive rules or with the Apprentice rules.  We decided to start with the Apprentice rules and work our way up to Executive status.

LOGO Billionaire

The ideal of both games is to be the first player to become a Billionaire, by trading brands and launching companies.  Throw in a hostile takeover or two and you could be a very successful business person.

LOGO Billionaire

We’ve found it much easier to play the game through and read the rules as we play.  They can see quite confusing, but once you actually start gameplay everything slots into place.

LOGO Billionaire

Collect at least three brands in the same colour category to launch your company.  But be careful when you use Risky Business!  You can increase the value of your company but you could go bust!

LOGO Billionaire

So what did we learn whilst playing LOGO Billionaire?  Well A lost both games, N was too greedy and went bust, I am too conservative when it comes to risking everything and J took the slowly, slowly approach and beat us all!  There were literally fits of laughter, admittedly, most when someone went bust.  We all really enjoyed playing both games and how my son slept through the fun I will never know.

This game is great fun and game play is fast so it will certainly keep younger players entertained too.  LOGO Billionaire retails at £24.99 and it’s been a big hit here, I think it’s actually my favourite that we’ve reviewed.  For information about this, other games in the range and stockist information please visit the Drumond Park website.

disclaimer:  we were sent this game in exchange for an honest review.

About Over 40 and a Mum to One

I'm a Mum in my late 40′s with a 7 year old son. I had a busy life in Export Sales before my Monkey came along, but decided to become a stay at home Mum once he arrived. Now I enjoy writing my own family lifestyle and travel blog. sharing the adventures that we have as Monkey makes his journey through school. We have a cat called Brewster who makes appearances and I’m a mad Ferrari Formula 1 fan, so that expect to hear about as each season unfolds. We love reviewing toys, games and books and would love the opportunity to look at anything that fits in with our family lifestyle. We are always out and about and offering an insight on the places we visit, with a passion for nature thrown in for good measure. If you like what you read please leave me a comment, I love to hear from people, and always try to reply. Enjoy the read.

  1. I’d emigrate to Australia and buy an apartment in Sydney Harbour – my favourite place in the world 🙂

  2. I’d buy a large estate, comprising a number of houses, for all my family. We all rent our homes and have the insecurity that brings.

  3. Oh I would buy a house in Glasgow for my wee sister. like everywhere else it’s so difficult to get on the property ladder here…my sis very modern so it would be a new built house…and I would go to it and she would spoil me cause I just bought her a house!

  4. I’d have an architect design my dream house and have it built. And I’ll book a round the world holiday.

  5. My husband and I have five adult children between us and eight grandchildren. The first thing I would buy would be their choice of homes and furnishings and give them enough money that they need never worry about it again x

  6. I would buy 100 expensive suitcases of assorted colours and give them to my friends and family and say “Start packing. We are all going to Florida for a great holiday”

  7. First I’d pay for a massive family holiday with my family and all the extended family too. Then I’d by myself a dream house! 🙂

  8. My partner says she would buy a hot rod first. She’s always wanted one. I don’t know what I would buy first. A holiday somewhere. And a flat for my daughter. There. Thought of something!

  9. id buy a massive house with extra bedrooms so even when my kids are grown up and they have babies of their own, they dont have leave me!! 🙁 LOL xx

  10. I’d buy a large property with lots and lots of land to open an animal sanctuary, and I guess all the billions would go on looking after the animals, but I’d rather be around animals most of the time!

  11. I’m straight off to buy the boats – one for putting to sea, a lovely old yacht, a canal cruiser and a high power RIB

  12. I think a lovely Greek island would be lovely…just like the one Christiano Ronaldo just bought as a wedding present for his agent – oh how the other 1% live 😉 !

  13. I would buy a small island (perhaps Britain) and give everyone free drink and free food and make everyone happy

  14. I would buy my Mum a house – I have seen her struggle financially when I was younger and I would love to see her reaction!!

  15. Sorry I’ve done it wrong was on the phone with my Mother whilst doing it!!.

But would have a round cruise for my husband & I.

  16. I’d get a mini race track built as my boys love cars & racing and some small versions of sporty cars for them to race

  17. I’d buy several islands and give over their use to save endangered wildlife plus funding heavily armed guards to keep all the creatures safe.

  18. I’d take my girls on a mega shopping spree as I know how much they’d love being able to buy anything they want

  19. A modest bungalow by the sea to enjoy our retirement, and I’d buy premises to set up a dog rescue centre and fund a manager to run it, because we adopted a gorgeous ‘older’ boy who was saved from death row at the pound by a wonderful smaller charity, completely run by volunteers. He had been someone’s pet, he is house trained, obedient & the most lovely nature, yet for some reason he had been abandoned & left to roam the streets. I hate to think of others like him just dumped because they are older- like an item of discarded clothing.

  20. a penguin sanctuary because I love penguins and would look after the sick ones then return them to the wild. Not here obviously 😉

  21. I would buy our own house. We move every couple of years with hubby job in the Forces and I want to settle the kids so they do not have to keep moving schools and making new friends. x

  22. I’d buy my hard working daughter a house as she’s working so hard for a deposit for a mortgage but its an uphill battle

  23. I would buy a house for me, hubby & our son- we currently live with my in-laws. The house is huge & we have our own living room, bathroom etc. but I would like to walk around in my underwear now & again 😉 x
