A taste of Persia thanks to Amira

A taste of Persia thanks to Amira

I’m carrying on the Middle Eastern theme of today with a taste of Persia thanks to Amira. We all love rice dishes here and I’m always interested in introducing new flavours to our mealtimes.  Amira provide high quality rices to Michelin starred restaurants as well as to familiar high street supermarkets.

We received a packet of Amira Superior Aromatic rice, one of the high quality rice grains from their range.   It’s worth noting that Amira rices offer a great flavour, with longer grains than the norm.  The grains are aged for 12-18 months to give them their optimum taste. Time to put that to the test.

Along with the Amira Superior Aromatic rice, I received a number of ingredients to be able to make Jewelled Persian Rice with Pomegranate, Walnuts and Parsley.  This recipe and other mouth-watering delights can be found on the website.

The recipe was easy to follow and made me realise that I have never cooked with Pomegranate before.  Actually, I’ve not used Cranberries either, so although I know I like the flavours, I was interested to see if Monkey and Daddy P would enjoy a taste of Persia thanks to Amira.

Verdict: delicious.  We did leave out the walnuts as neither Monkey or I are keen on them, but we certainly enjoyed our first taste of Persia, and of Amira rices. The flavours were wonderful and it’s certainly a recipe I will use again.  I quite fancy trying the Middle Eastern Clove and Cardamon Scented Rice with Grilled Halloumi next!

disclaimer:  we were sent the products and ingredients to make this recipe in exchange for an honest review
