Project 365 2015 Week 32

Project 365 2015 Week 32

I’ve been joining in with Project 365 since the start of 2014, and been inspired by The Boy and Me to make sure I take a Photo A Day, Every Day, For A Year! Project 365 2015 Week 32 Days 214-220.

Sunday 2nd August – Day 214Project 365 2015 Week 32

After all the dramas yesterday I cancelled our trip to Portsmouth for the second week running, as I wanted to make sure Monkey was responding well to his new antibiotics.  He, obviously, woke up as bright as a button, and in hindsight we could have gone on our trip as planned.

So instead, we spent a quiet day pottering around at home in the morning.  By the afternoon we all needed to let off some steam, so we headed to the village of Brill to have a closer look at the windmill and go for a walk.

Monday 3rd August – Day 215

Project 365 2015 Week 32

Monkey seems so much better, which is good as we should be going away tomorrow.  I had a rather special review delivery arrive first thing – a Smart ForFour.  I’ve got the car for the next week so decided to pick up some shopping in town so I could get used to it before tomorrow’s road trip.  Monkey obviously wanted to come too, and he spent his pocket money on a new book – about diggers, naturally!  When we got home, he made Daddy take a break to read with him.

Tuesday 4th August – Day 216

Project 365 2015 Week 32

Monkey and I set off on our next adventure – this time for a couple of days in Leicestershire with Stay Play Explore.  Our first stop was Twycross Zoo, where we met up with my best friend A for the day.  It’s a Zoo Monkey and I haven’t visited before and we got to meet a few baby animals, but my heart was stolen by this little lady.  I’ve since found out she shares a birthday with my Mum!

After a day exploring the Zoo we said goodbye to A and headed to the Hilton in Leicester for our overnight stay.  A double bed each and Monkey still wanted to share – uum, I think not!

Wednesday 5th August – Day 217

Project 365 2015 Week 32

After breakfast we checked out of the hotel and headed to the National Space Centre.  We didn’t end up staying for as long as I would have liked.  Monkey found the ground floor a bit overwhelming, it’s dark, and he really wasn’t keen at all.  Before we headed home, we popped into the Abbey Pumping Station Museum which is next door, it’s also free.  Happy Monkey returned, I have an engineer on my hands, rather than an astronaut I think!

Thursday 6th August – Day 218

Project 365 2015 Week 32

We popped into town to buy some presents for a few birthday parties Monkey’s been invited to, and came home with his first KNex set – how did that happen?  Anyway, it’s got a wheel missing, but their PR has been very helpful and hopefully the missing bit will be with us shortly.

We then moved on to the craft cupboard, which needed a good sort out.  Monkey was happy cutting, glueing and making a mess having fun whilst I cleared out the clutter.  We seemed to have accumulated a Bubble mixture stock pile – it was time to get out in the garden and use some of it up pronto!

Friday 7th August – Day 219

Project 365 2015 Week 32

We had a lazy morning at home before making a trip to London with the Kids Week deal to see The Gruffalo at the Lyric, on Shaftesbury Avenue.  It was a lovely production and we both really enjoyed it.  I’d thought about eating out in London after the show, but Monkey was happy to head home and pick up pizzas to eat there.  When we got on the train I realised what a wise decision that was.  We got seats, but by the time the train pulled out of Marylebone, it was standing room only and it wasn’t even 4pm!

Saturday 8th August – Day 220

Project 365 2015 Week 32

What lovely weather ….. at last!  We’ve spent all day in the garden having fun with arts, crafts and bubbles.  We’d been sent some craft sets by Baker Ross and I love what Monkey did with this one.  The cone is the Deep Dark Wood, complete with trees and bugs, and the pop up person has been turned into the Gruffalo, he even has purple prickles on his back, and a poisonous green wart on the end of his nose!  The smile shows how pleased Monkey was with himself.

  1. aaa I’d love to see the Grufallo, I mean the kids would *cough* The photo of the elephant is adorable!! x

  2. Sounds like a lovely busy week full of adventures and a lot of crafting. Knex is very popular with us too. H uses it to make different things to his Lego.

  3. Can’t wait for us to see The Gruffalo. Hopefully N will enjoy it.

Love the craft creation. Great idea.

  4. lots of happy smiling pictures this week, especially the last one with his puppet You would not want him being an astronaut anyway cos now they are starting to go on one way trips and this may be the norm in 20 years or so.
Laughed at him wanting to share the bed, typical isn’t it!!
Hate busy packed trains, much prefer them half empty

  5. The baby elephant is super cute. I haven’t yet taken Eddie to any Zoo, though he keeps asking. glad Monkey and you enjoyed the Gruffalo production.

  6. I’m glad Monkey perked up and it looks like you had a fun week in the end. Love the baby elephant pic, so cute!
