teapigs teapops

You may remember I discovered teapigs some time back.  I’ve been a fan on their Super Fruit tea temples ever since.  We’ve even made cake with teapigs before now!  So when I was told of another way of using my favourite tea temples I was keen to find out more.  It was time to make some teapigs teapops.

The teapigs Super Fruit tea temples contain hibiscus, elderberry, blackcurrant, raisin, lingonberry and blueberry and I thought they’d be perfect for Monkey and I to try as our first teapop experience.

Servings – 4/6 people
Prep time – 5 minutes
passive time – 12 hours

Ingredients

4 Super Fruit tea temples depending on strength of flavour
100ml boiling water to brew
350ml cool water (change to milk if you want milk pops)
6 tsp runny honey
1 handful chopped strawberries
1 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

Brew the tea temples for at least 4 minutes in the boiling water
Sweeten with honey
Remove tea temples and leave to fully cool
Once cool top up with 350ml water/milk
Prepare the strawberries (or other fruits of your choice)
Pour your cooled tea into ice lolly moulds and add in chopped fruit
Place in the freezer overnight to set

So what did we think of our first taste of teapigs teapops? Well we might not have had the summer sun but these certainly brightened up our day.  They were a big hit and Monkey has asked me what we can try next!

I’m not a lover of anything with a citrus flavour personally, but teapigs suggest using their Lemon and Ginger tea temples with the juice of a whole lemon, lemon zest and honey.  I love the idea of trying something with the Peppermint, Chocolate & Mint or Rooibos Creme Caramel too.

I might try using milk instead of water with our Super Fruit tea temples to see what that tastes like.  I love Chai tea, so for myself and Daddy P I’m tempted to try the Chai Tea Temples with almond milk, a vanilla pod, cinnamon and honey.

Have you made teapops before?  I’d love to hear your suggestions if you have.

About Over 40 and a Mum to One

I'm a Mum in my late 40′s with a 7 year old son. I had a busy life in Export Sales before my Monkey came along, but decided to become a stay at home Mum once he arrived. Now I enjoy writing my own family lifestyle and travel blog. sharing the adventures that we have as Monkey makes his journey through school. We have a cat called Brewster who makes appearances and I’m a mad Ferrari Formula 1 fan, so that expect to hear about as each season unfolds. We love reviewing toys, games and books and would love the opportunity to look at anything that fits in with our family lifestyle. We are always out and about and offering an insight on the places we visit, with a passion for nature thrown in for good measure.
