Vamousse to prevent and treat head lice

Vamousse to prevent and treat head lice – review and giveaway

We’re back in the school routine now which always leaves me wondering how long it will be before we get a dreaded red-letter returned in Monkey’s book bag – watch out head lice are about!  We’ve not been afflicted yet, but I’m sure at some point they will visit us.  But we shall be ready for them as we will be using Vamousse to prevent and treat head lice.

The Vamousse Protection Shampoo and Head Lice Treatment Mouse both contain isopropyl alcohol and isopropyl myristate.

When its unique combination of components are combined in the appropriate ratio, 100% mortality is achieved within 15 minutes of contact.

So should we get the red-letter home warning that head lice have been found in class then we can kick straight into action with the Vamousse Protection Shampoo (200ml bottle). The product is really easy to use, it looks just like any other shampoo, if a little runnier than our normal product.  The shampoo is suitable for anyone aged 2 years and over to use.

It lathers well and should be left on for a minimum of 3 minutes, then wash off as normal and repeat every day for a 2 week period.

The protective shampoo does smell quite strong in our opinion when applying, but once Monkey’s hair was dry, that had faded.

Should the critters get to us before we can prevent them, then we will be turning to the Vamousse Head Lice Treatment using their Mousse Application.

The 160ml Mousse also comes with a comb and full instructions to treat and kill lice and eggs within 15 minutes.  When treating head lice it’s worth noting that their favourite spots are behind the ears and the nape of the neck.  We’ve not had to test this product out yet, but Angela has over at The Life of Spicers and she gives it a big thumbs up as you can see.

Her experience has made me realise that I need to be more vigilant with checking at home myself. We certainly want to Vamousse those varmints here!  Some useful information can be found here to protect you and your family against these horrible critters.

Vamousse® Protective Shampoo is available to buy at Boots, Superdrug, Ocado (coming soon to Sainsbury’s) and all good pharmacies with a RRP of £9.99. Vamousse Head Lice Treatment is also available at these outlets and has an RRP of £14.99.

  1. Ugh, hate the thought of headlice but did has just started school so I’m sure it’s inevitable! I wonder what we do about needing conditioner on long knotty hair?!?

  2. a laser pen type thing that just “zaps” the nits and eggs – Id call it “The Egg-sellent Nit Destroyer” _ LOL

  3. Nice to be without lice. As it would be nice for parents not to have to be concerned with lice, yet there continues to be outbreaks.

  4. My daughter has had head lice for a while now fount out yesterday she still has them I have tried everything thank you for sharing this blog 🙂

  5. Nit today, Dead Tomorrow! So awful to have to do it but I check every weekend to make sure there are no nits in my girls hair, this kit would come in very useful!

  6. I would call it The End To All Suffering and it would be like a torch you could shine over the kids hair that instantly zapped them!

  7. I would call it nits away and it would be like a fly zapper safe on humans but all the nits just drop dead from your head.

  8. Lice Repel – my invention would just stop lice getting anywhere near people’s heads – like a halo!

  9. I’d call it the parent time machine because my daughter has beautiful long hair and we have spend so much time since she started school checking for nits. My nit stopping machine would give me back all that time to do enjoyable activities instead.

  10. I would call my invention Neon Nit Lite, it would go on the hair and make the nits glow so you could see where they are x

I'd love to hear from you and try to reply to all comments
