Monkey has been learning all about magic, witches and wizards at school this term and he’s really getting into the whole idea of all things creepy.  He’s been having great fun with some Halloween craft ideas from Baker Ross.  You might notice he decided to get dressed for the occasion in his vampire suit.

We started with the Spider Weaving Placemat Kits – these are great for working on manual dexterity. You weave the two different coloured ribbons through the pre-cut slits in the placement, trim the ends and fix the self adhesive backing.  Then add the self adhesive stickers to make the scary spider faces.

Monkey always enjoys crafts that involve drawing handprints so I knew the Bat Handprint Decoration Kit would go down well.

I drew around Monkey’s hand for him and cut the hands out.  We used a glue stick to stick the hands to the back of the bat, but everything else is self adhesive with the exception of the eyes – again a glue stick was used.  A lovely, effective craft project that’s also mess free.

Monkey has a bit of a thing for key rings – his school book bag handle is full of them.  Yes Mummy, I want another one – roll up the Skull Keyring and Bag Dangler Sewing Kit.

These kits are a great idea for a first sewing experience, children can’t hurt themselves with the needle, it’s easy to thread and the holes are pre-cut so it’s easy for them to follow. The accessories bar the sequins are all self adhesive, making this a simple, mess free activity.

I think my little Dracula loved the Halloween Mosaic Wand Kit the best of all.  Super easy, and easy to complete in a matter of minutes.  He loved it.

We’ve had great fun with these Halloween craft ideas from Baker Ross and they have even more on their website.
