Project 365 2015 Week 43-45

Project 365 2015 Week 43-45

I’ve been joining in with Project 365 since the start of 2014, and been inspired by The Boy and Me to make sure I take a Photo A Day, Every Day, For A Year! Project 365 2015 Week 43-45 Days 291-311.  I’ve been struggling a bit with this project lately, throw in Daddy P’s birthday, half term and before you know it I’m 3 weeks behind!

Sunday 18th October – Day 291

Project 365 2015 Week 43 Sun

We’d been invited to Ock Mill in Abingdon to try out a Beefeater for the first time. The food was ok, but we left a little underwhelmed unfortunately.  Afterwards we walked into Abingdon to show Monkey the river and watch the swans swimming by.

Monday 19th October – Day 292

Project 365 2015 Week 43-45

One of those where we were all busy doing stuff.  After school Monkey wanted to test out his new Mini Hornit so we got his bike out and off we went.  We need to do this more often now he’s happier to pedal.

Tuesday 20th October – Day 293

Project 365 2015 Week 43-45

A bit of jigsaw puzzle action before school for Monkey.  My friend H popped round for coffee, cake and a chat in the morning.  We haven’t seen each other for a few months so it was lovely to share news.  Daddy P came out of work for a bit in the afternoon so we could both be at Monkey’s parents meeting.  It was a chance for him to see how well Monkey has progressed this term.  His teacher is really pleased with him, he’s not at all the child that had been described to him by his Reception teacher.  His confidence is growing and he’s making big steps forward.  It was definitely a pizza for tea treat night.

Wednesday 21st October – Day 294

Project 365 2015 Week 43-45

A bit of maths before school with Monkeys bead string.  Loving the concentration.

My car was in for its MOT and service so I got on with job at home in the morning and headed into school in the afternoon to listen to some of the children reading. It was wonderful to see how much on child had progressed in 2 weeks and to see his enthusiasm. The car passed its MOT but won’t be back until tomorrow as waiting for something for the service.

Thursday 22nd October – Day 295

Project 365 2015 Week 43-45

A day of trying to get up to date as I’m determined to take next week off.  After school Monkey and I popped into town to get a few bits for Daddy P’s birthday.  I spotted a few sale bargains for Monkey’s birthday, noted for a solo shopping trip tomorrow.

Managed to get a little cross stitch done in the evening too.

Friday 23rd October – Day 296

Project 365 2015 Week 43-45

Monkey had taken in his magical world to school for homework, complete with Magic Train, Magic Little White Hen and Magic Cat.

Popped back into town and grabbed the bargains for Granny and Gramps to give to Monkey for his birthday and got a few other bits for Christmas presents whilst I was out. We skyped Spain after school, it would appear Windows 10 doesn’t like our webcam, I’m now upside down – grrr.

Saturday 24th October – Day 297

Project 365 2015 Week 43-45

Daddy P’s birthday and we headed down to the Watercress Line in Hampshire to spend the day admiring another A4 class loco – Bittern, before it’s taken out of service for an overhaul.  We had a great day, the weather behaved all day until we headed home.  We even had time to pop over to Hinton Ampner for a walk in the grounds in between train journeys.

Sunday 25th October – Day 298

Project 365 2015 Week 43-45

We picked up Daddy P’s sister and her husband and headed to Westonbirt Arboretum for the day.  We couldn’t have asked for better weather and we all had a wonderful day.

Monday 26th October – Day 299

Project 365 2015 Week 43-45

The start of half term and we headed over to Blenheim Palace for the day with our NCT friends J and the boys O and E.  The boys don’t see each other very often these days, but it was lovely to see them just take off and enjoy each others company from the start.  We tracked down pumpkins, went on train rides, tried not to get lost in the maze, had pizza for lunch and admired the butterflies.  There was even time to collect more leaves before heading home.

Tuesday 27th October – Day 300

Project 365 2015 Week 43-45

We were going to go to Hill End to try some of their half term activities, but Monkey was shattered after a busy few days.  It was time to chill out at home for a change. We made leaf collages and just enjoyed each others company.

Brewster had obviously had a very hard day.

Wednesday 28th October – Day 301

Project 365 2015 Week 43-45

Another chill out day at home having fun together.  We made cakes and Monkey helped with the decorations.  They were meant to be Halloween ghosts, but he wanted some of them to be Christmas trees – as you do.  In the afternoon we went out with his bike again and collected more leaves.  A new obsession it would appear.

Thursday 29th October – Day 302

Project 365 2015 Week 43-45

Monkey and I headed to Banbury for a performance of Mr Tiger Gets Angry at The Mill Arts Centre.  He had a great time and the show was good fun.

Friday 30th October – Day 303

Project 365 2015 Week 43-45

We headed up the motorway to the Heritage Motor Centre to enjoy a day with our Redpeffer friends.  It’s a good indoor option and a mid way meeting point for our families. The kids had a great day and we got to hear about the new extension which opens in February.  Road works and an accident gave us a slightly longer journey home but we weren’t going to let it spoil a lovely day out.

Saturday 31st October – Day 304

Project 365 2015 Week 43-45

We spent the day with our special Sheba and went into Banbury on the bus – cue great excitement.  After wandering around the museum and trying out the interactive displays we had lunch and headed down to the canal to watch the narrowboats navigating the various locks – cheap entertainment!

Halloween, and Monkey surprised me by getting dressed up and wanting to try trick or treating for the first time.  In fact it was a first for both of us – you’re never too old to try something new.  We bumped into a friend from school and decided to walk around together.  The kids had a lovely time and before we can home Monkey was making ghost noises and really getting into the spirit of the evening.  I was just amazed and thrilled that he felt confident enough to do it.

Sunday 1st November – Day 305

Project 365 2015 Week 43-45

I sent Daddy P and Monkey out for the afternoon so I could make a start on some work, I was aware of emails piling up during the week and could feel the stress levels rising.  Of course a few chocolates had to be eaten to keep the energy levels up.

Monday 2nd November – Day 306

Project 365 2015 Week 43-45

Back to school for Monkey, after the initial reluctance to leave the house he went straight into class. Time to go shopping and fill the cupboards up again. Raining again and I hardly took any photos today but I loved this one taken on my iPhone, looks like a necklace rather than a cobweb doesn’t it.

Tuesday 3rd November – Day 307

Project 365 2015 Week 43-45

A busy day catching up with work for me and a good day at school for Monkey.  Brewster was tired out again, and I’d forgotten to take photos all day.

Wednesday 4th November – Day 308

Project 365 2015 Week 43-45

After dropping Monkey off at school, Daddy P dropped me at the station so I could get the train to London without be soaked through.  I headed off to the Dream Toys even, where the top toys for Christmas had been announced earlier in the morning. I got to spend the morning looking at Lego and playing with Tracy Island – it’s certainly FAB.

Back in time to pick Monkey up from school and enjoy some after school chill out time.  As we arrived home Monkey spotted a rainbow.  Mummy, can we go and look for the gold?  Oh to be 5 again.

Thursday 5th November – Day 309

Project 365 2015 Week 43-45

A rather soggy Guy Fawkes Day!  I had the lights on whilst I was working all day. I’m not a fan of darker days.  Monkey received something in the post today which had me in tears. He received this postcard from his teacher in the head – Praise for showing great self belief and resilience. Wow! What an amazing start to Year One. What a lovely idea, he was so chuffed when he got home from school to see it.

Brewster curled up tight indoors and we watched the occasional firework exploding overhead from our window.

Friday 6th November – Day 310

Project 365 2015 Week 43-45

It’s been one of those days.  Wet, dull, gloomy and dark.  My credit card was scammed in August, and I thought it had all been resolved until I went to pay my latest bill and found my provider had managed to add-on the scammed amounts again rather than deducting them.  Grrr.  Another call centre call I could do without.  Hopefully it is now finally resolved.

Looking out of the patio doors I really should put our pumpkin in the bin shouldn’t I.

I had a rare treat and got to go out in the evening before Daddy P went back to work.  One of my NCT friends was hosting a Pampered Chef party so I popped over.  I totally messed up our food, and I was the only one not drinking – oops!  But it was still a fun evening.

Saturday 7th November – Day 311

Project 365 2015 Week 43-45

It’s been pouring down here for most of the day, so we decided against a walk in the woods and settled for some craft activities in the morning.  Monkey’s topic at school this half term is Space, so he finished a rocket ship he started last night for his homework.  We’ve got Redpeffer and family here next weekend, so I was so pleased when Monkey decided to do next weekend’s homework too!  One Rocket constellation conceived, designed and created all by himself.

When the ran subsided it gave us the chance to track down some snails in the garden for a nature kit review.  We both love snails, so this activity went down well.

We’re off to the local fireworks display this evening, hope it’s not a total wash out.

  1. Love the droplets on the web – nature at its best. I haven’t been to a Beefeater for years – it was a favourite student haunt for meals out! Westonbirt is such a great place this time of year x

  2. Absolutely love the shot of the spider’s web, beautiful. Sounds like you’ve had a busy few weeks. I took a full week off, so it’s a double from me this week, needs to be done sometimes, but the catching up takes a while 🙂

  3. I love him looking at the snail! Good job on the cross stitch too – I am doing knitting at the moment to try and switch off a bit x

  4. Love the photo of your little man with his read coat on in the leaves – that just sums up autumn for me! The cobwebs picture is beautiful too, and that’s a great Halloween outfit!

  5. Lots of gorgeous photos! The tree covered in orange and brown leaves is stunning and love the raindrop one.

  7. good to hear your son is doing so well at school and how wonderful that both mum and dad were able to make it to parents evening, something that rarely happened in our family. The outdoor autumnal shots are fab and I love your son’s halloween costume

I love the photo of him sat on the grass with the leaves in his hand.
