As Quiet as a Mouse

If you have a new baby in the house with an older sibling you’ll totally relate to As Quiet As A Mouse by Karen Owen.  This charming picture book was published through Maverick Arts Publishing recently and it’s been making us giggle here.

As Quiet as a Mouse

As Quiet as a Mouse introduces us to Edgar the elephant and his baby sister Mabel.  No matter how hard Edgar tries to be quiet, he just can’t manage it, and he always wakes his sister up.  He makes so much noise.

As Quiet as a Mouse

He tells his friend Ruby the mouse that his Mum’s told him off for being too loud and Ruby comes up with a plan.

Poor Edgar ends up at Mouse School – can Mr Cheddar, the Head Mouse teach him to do things quietly?  The illustrations by Evgenia Golubeva are bright and help to bring the amusing tale to life.

I won’t ruin the ending, but it’s rather funny.

Available for £6.99 this is another lovely picture book and I’ve included my Amazon affiliate link below for your information.

About Over 40 and a Mum to One

I'm a Mum in my late 40′s with a 7 year old son. I had a busy life in Export Sales before my Monkey came along, but decided to become a stay at home Mum once he arrived. Now I enjoy writing my own family lifestyle and travel blog. sharing the adventures that we have as Monkey makes his journey through school. We have a cat called Brewster who makes appearances and I’m a mad Ferrari Formula 1 fan, so that expect to hear about as each season unfolds. We love reviewing toys, games and books and would love the opportunity to look at anything that fits in with our family lifestyle. We are always out and about and offering an insight on the places we visit, with a passion for nature thrown in for good measure. If you like what you read please leave me a comment, I love to hear from people, and always try to reply. Enjoy the read.

  1. This looks cute and the title made me smile! I remember when Little Mister was born and I probably used the phrase ‘quiet as a mouse’ a hundred times with Mademoiselle – made no difference!!
