Goodnight Songs - A Celebration of the Seasons

Goodnight Songs – A Celebration of the Seasons

We love the author Margaret Wise Brown and I couldn’t wait to turn the pages of Goodnight Songs – A Celebration of the Seasons with Monkey.  This is a wonderful collection of poems and songs about nature and the changing seasons.

Goodnight Songs - A Celebration of the Seasons

Goodnight Songs – A Celebration of the Seasons is accompanied by a 12 track CD of the songs.

I think Love Song of the Little Bear is one of our favourites, the words are so gentle and share his love of his mother, but actually maybe the world all around him too.

Being bug hunters Buzz Buzz Buzz had to go down well, I’m seriously hoping that Monkey’s hatred of wasps might have disappeared by next summer, but he does still love bees thankfully.

Goodnight Songs - A Celebration of the Seasons

Fall of the Year is very apt right now, with talk of autumn and the dark nights ahead. Leaves turning from yellows and reds to brown.

Goodnight Songs – A Celebration of the Seasons is a charming book and the CD has become a favourite on car journeys lately.  This hardback book from Sterling Books is available in all good bookstores for £14.99.

  1. When it snows going sledging and snowball fights, nice brisk walks and warming up by the log fire with a hot chocolate with marshmallows

  2. Not so sure I like anything much about Winter now ( apart from warm comforting food:- such as soup, rice pudding etc). When younger I liked playing in the snow, whilst warmly dressed in winter clothes, scarf etc. The dogs enjoyed playing in the snow, so it could be fun taking them for a walk in the winter. They would run and jump in the snow, chase snowballs etc.

  3. Snow (when we get it) its so pretty when it falls and i love bieng snuggled inside watching it come down

  4. I love the long walks on lazy crisp Sunday afternoons….followed by sitting in front of the open fire in the pub!

  5. I love getting the heating on, staying at home with my daughter playing on the wii and also with boards games, cards, arts and crafts and baking.

  6. The absolute contrast of being outdoors and indoors, love being snuggled up and warm but nothing makes you feel more alive than a blast of fresh cold air.

  7. Cold, clear, crisp winter days. Just to walk in. Better than any hot summer day. Winter seems to have more ‘feelings’

  8. my fave thing about winter is getting my warm winter clothes on and going hiking 🙂 when it’s crisp and clear it’s amazing! then getting to the pub at the end with rosy cheeks and sitting by the fire with a pint 🙂

  9. I love a crisp cold but sunny day where we can go walking with the dogs, its nice because most people dont come out and we can be on our own

  10. Not a lot lol Its nice to look out at the horrible weather we get when the heatings on and ur curled up in front of the fire

  11. My two little granddaughters’ birthdays – one either side of Christmas! Busy time but so much fun!

  12. I know most people hate them but i love the shorter evenings, during the Summer months I always feel guilty about just reading a book on the sofa when there is a jungle of a garden to be tamed and a million other jobs to do. But in the Winter I don’t feel as bad about getting into a pair of cozy PJs and watching a film or just doing nothing!!

I'd love to hear from you and try to reply to all comments
