Win a Vtech DigiGo #DigiGoetiquette

You may have noticed that Monkey has a new gadget – his Vtech DigiGo, which he loves.

Win a Vtech DigiGo

He’s got an Innotab which he’s had for a couple of years now, but that’s always been something he’s been happy to play with in the living room.  But I’ve noticed that the DigiGo has started to creep into the kitchen at mealtimes.  Uum.  It’s made me look at myself and realise that I often have my phone on the table too.  So it’s time to lead by example – from now on, there are to be no gadgets welcome at our table during mealtimes.

I also don’t want Monkey to spend all his time after school glued to a device, so we are giving him a time limit from the start, and I’ve also agreed to use my phone less to check emails etc whilst he’s up.  It’s a bloggers worst habit, and I am rather attached to my phone.  So I think this new house rule will help us both and really give us quality time together.

Vtech DigiGo

Now we’re only just starting out on Monkey’s gadget journey, technology is still a novel idea here, so I don’t have any stories to share about Monkey’s techno errors on the funny/not so funny things that can happen when the kids get hold of your phone or tablet. But to be in with a chance of winning a Vtech DigiGo I’d love to hear your stories!  Just complete the Rafflecopter form below and a random winner will be selected.  Please make sure to use #DigiGoetiquette in your blog comment.  Good luck!

About Over 40 and a Mum to One

I'm a Mum in my late 40′s with a 7 year old son. I had a busy life in Export Sales before my Monkey came along, but decided to become a stay at home Mum once he arrived. Now I enjoy writing my own family lifestyle and travel blog. sharing the adventures that we have as Monkey makes his journey through school. We have a cat called Brewster who makes appearances and I’m a mad Ferrari Formula 1 fan, so that expect to hear about as each season unfolds. We love reviewing toys, games and books and would love the opportunity to look at anything that fits in with our family lifestyle. We are always out and about and offering an insight on the places we visit, with a passion for nature thrown in for good measure. If you like what you read please leave me a comment, I love to hear from people, and always try to reply. Enjoy the read.

When the police arrived they could see me though the frosted glass door and thought I was hovering over a body! They left after a good look around my house and a few stern words for my boy.
    I was mortified!! #DigiGoetiquette

  128. My son steals my phone to take selfies with him and the dog, his ‘little brother’! To be fair it’s mostly just one of his eyes and one of the dogs eyes next to his <3 Forgot this!!! – #DigiGoetiquette

  129. #DigiGoetiquette. My daughter got hold of my phone and somehow sent one of my funny selfies to my husbands customer. I text straight away and explained and luckily they saw the funny side. Embarrassed wasn’t the word.

  130. I love looking through my photos on the ipad I always have a new selection of my five year olds face normally around 100 pictures each time!!!

  131. We gave H an old no longer working phone to play with as she is always grabbing ours – but she wasnt fooled by it and attempted to swap it for my new one instead as she wanted to watch mickey mouse club house on youtube! #DigiGoetiquette

  132. I’ve learnt this from the best my little man loves going on my phone pretending he’s on the phone and watching videos on YouTube, he’s actually ended up smashing my phone screen and we had a whopping bill of £40 of the apps he’s ‘accidentally’ bought, we often find a few cheeky selfies on there too, he would have so much fun with this thanks so much for the chance 🙂 #DigiGoetiquette

  133. I know when my kids have had the phone as I find a whole heap of blurry random pics of the kids eyes, noses, hands, feet, toys etc. about 100 blurry pics!
The worst is accidentally signing up for stuff like £4.50 text messages (luckily my phone has a limiter on the account so it can’t go over the monthly allowance – put on to stop this kind of accident!) I also have had one child go bidding on stuff on eBay because my account was left logged in! He won one item which luckily I got cancelled!

  136. When my grandson was only about 18 months old he found my phone and next time I used it I found some of the sweetest out of focus selfies.

  137. I foolishly let my son play candy crush soda with the internet still on….he bought lots of extras costing me a small fortune! #DigiGoetiquette

  138. My 2yo loves to lock me out of my iPad by opening the cover and randomly pressing number on the security code keypad! #DigiGoetiquette

  139. My little one took a photo of his bum and decided to send it to everyone! He was 3 at the time and he thought it was so funny, I had a few ??? texts in reply! Little monkey as he is!

    1. My little one has done shortcuts I didn’t even know existed and managed to delete quite a few apps and pictures! #DigiGoetiquette

  140. #DigiGoetiquette One of my grandchildren picked up my phone and when it suddenly started to ring with a loud bell he dropped it and ran and hid in his bedroom. He thought he had set off an alarm and the police would come. He was all right after I reassured him he was not in trouble. He leaves it alone now.

  141. #DigiGoetiquette my friends 13month old son amazed me with sitting on the floor and finding ‘mickey’ on the fone and then resetting it again when the short film had finished. such fine hand dexterity for that age I was amazed.

  142. Oh, countless selfies of their foreheads or their feet, that never gets old.
However explaining to my friends on Facebook why they sometimes get messages along the lines of “kcmxz,z.,m.,./.dflaw,/.z,.z,\./,./sa,c./\awlk;” every other day very much does get old!
I MUST LOG OUT WHEN I’M NOT USING IT! Oh, #DigiGoetiquette
    (sorry I forgot!!)

  143. #DigiGoetiquette my girl swapped mine and my partners phone cases and we didn’t realise until we got to work. Nightmare when your phone is a key part of your work. Now we always check before leaving the house!

  144. When my son was little he got hold of my iPad and tried to buy some things on a Smurf game. Luckily he hadn’t pressed the buy button as it was over £50. #DigiGoetiquette

  145. My two years old taught me unintentionally that when you slide youtube video to the bottom corner you can still watch it and browse different ones:)

  146. My Granddaughter managed to put my phone on silent when I let her play with it, I totally forgot about it, then later on couldn’t find it, she had mislaid it and of course it was on silent, so i couldn’t hear it ring to find it, took me a few hours before I did eventually find it. I wont let her play with no more #DigiGoetiquette
