The countdown to Christmas has begun and I’ve been a lover of all things Scandinavian for some time. There’s a big tradition in Sweden to hang a Christmas star in windows at this time of year. Would we like to follow the tradition here? We’ve been looking at the Christmas stars from Jackie K and found some lovely options.
In the end I decided on Donna Slim 60 in Gold as I thought it would fit in well with our Christmas colour scheme.
There are a wide range of styles of Christmas stars from Jackie K, in different colours and sizes too. This one costs EUR35, it comes complete with cable but you will need an E14 25w (max wattage) screw in bulb and an EU to UK plug adaptor to work your Christmas star.
The kit comes with clear instructions, and a bulb protector.
Follow the instructions to assemble the protector and fit to the cable and then screw in your bulb.
It’s a shame that the Christmas stars from Jackie K aren’t supplied in the UK with a UK plug, I had to borrow an EU to UK adaptor from a friend, and I still need to track one down for us to keep. I think for the price, I’d prefer it to come all ready to use, one less stress at this time of year.
Putting the star together with the cable is a two person job, one needs to hold the cable with bulb inside the star, whilst the other ties up the strings to tighten the star and secure it.
But once that’s done it does look rather pretty. The cable does include a an attachment so you can secure the star in place on a hook if you have one. I need to pop out the points a little further, and once I’ve sourced an adaptor our Christmas Star will be hanging in Monkey’s window.
To see the full range of Christmas stars available pop over to Jackie K, which one would you pick?

Awww that looks fab. Need to get some decorations up other than the advent calender garland we have.
This is very pretty.
