A Life in Pictures

A Life in Pictures

Over the holidays Monkey and I have enjoyed looking through a rather marvellous hardback book called A Life in Pictures by Michael Foreman. Published by Pavilion Books in November 2015 this book gives us a fascinating insight into the life of the acclaimed illustrator through his own work.

A Life in Pictures

A Life in Pictures is a fascinating read and something you can dip in and out of.  The illustrator talks us through his life and the many varied books and posters he has illustrated from the likes of War Boy, Treasure Island to little Red Riding Hood and The Saga of Erik the Viking.

Monkey is a little too young to fully appreciate all the details within the text, but he’s still enjoyed looking at the illustrations. We’ve talked about books we need to add to our collection. It’s certainly a book that I’ve really enjoyed reading. Anyone who reads my picture book reviews will know I’m often commenting on the illustrations. To me they really bring a story alive for young children and can help captivate them as they start out on their reading journey.
