Hedgehugs Hopping Hot

Oh Mummy, it’s a new Hedgehugs book!  This was Monkey’s response when we received the new Hedgehugs Hopping Hot hot off the press a few weeks back. Published 2 weeks ago by Maverick Arts Publishing, this is the third installment of the Hedgehugs picture book series written by Lucy Tapper and Steve Wilson.

Hedgehugs Hopping Hot

We’ve been a fan of the last two Hedgehugs books featuring Horace and Hattie, so were looking forward to catching up on their latest adventure.  In this book the friends are playing all sorts of games.  On one rather hot summers day they want to play a hopping game with their friend the grasshopper, but it just too hot to be playing in the glare of the sun.

Hedgehugs Hopping Hot

Hattie and Horace look for somewhere where they can stay cool and still enjoy their hopping game.  They tried to be like frogs in the pond, and woodlice under stones.  But it was just no good for hopping.

The friends tried high and low to find a suitable place to hop, somewhere that would keep them warm.  They’d forgotten that they had a secret weapon – their prickles.  I won’t ruin the end of the story, but it’s rather cute. Hedgehugs Hopping Hot is another hit in this house.

About Over 40 and a Mum to One

I'm a Mum in my late 40′s with a 7 year old son. I had a busy life in Export Sales before my Monkey came along, but decided to become a stay at home Mum once he arrived. Now I enjoy writing my own family lifestyle and travel blog. sharing the adventures that we have as Monkey makes his journey through school. We have a cat called Brewster who makes appearances and I’m a mad Ferrari Formula 1 fan, so that expect to hear about as each season unfolds. We love reviewing toys, games and books and would love the opportunity to look at anything that fits in with our family lifestyle. We are always out and about and offering an insight on the places we visit, with a passion for nature thrown in for good measure. If you like what you read please leave me a comment, I love to hear from people, and always try to reply. Enjoy the read.
