I’ve become a huge fan of the Swedish outdoor clothing brand over the last few years, and Monkey can regularly be seen in his red winter coat. The various jackets and waterproofs he’s had, have really worn well, and have kept him warm and dry. I was recently offered the opportunity to try the Boreal Women’s Jacket from Didriksons and treat myself for a change.
With warmer weather hopefully around the corner, I’ve been after a lighter weight jacket, which would still offer me protection from the elements. Let’s face it, the weather has an uncanny habit of changing from full sun to driving rain at precisely 3.05pm during the school week! My existing jacket it lovely, but it’s dark grey, and feels very wintery. I really wanted something that would feel more Spring like, and the Boreal Women’s Jacket from Didriksons in Pale Arctic fitted the bill perfectly. Available in 6 different colours, this one was clearly meant for me.
The jacket has lots of useful features, I particularly like the high neck and the fact you can detach the hood. The hood itself is adjustable with a peak so you can see where you’re going and still not get wet, great when you’re wearing glasses!
The sleeves have elasticated cuffs, but these aren’t too tight, so feel comfortable. The front zip and slanted side pockets are protected with poppers to keep you dry whatever the weather. I do like secret pockets and there are a couple of internal ones, perfect for a mobile phone, keys and a snack.
You can also adjust the hemline if you so wish, I’m very ‘hippy’ so the Boreal jack fits me snuggly without any adjustment (size 36 which converts to a size 10) and the toggles in the size pockets are a little annoying if I’m honest.
But apart from that little niggle I love the Boreal Women’s Jacket from Didriksons, and it’s going to be well used in the months ahead I’m sure. The jacket is waterproof and windproof, making it ideal for this time of year, and it’s also breathable, so I’ll feel comfortable whatever the adventure that I’m on.
