Tower of London 1000 piece jigsaw puzzle

Last month I was able to share my childhood memories of Hampton Court Palace with you through the latest Ravensburger Puzzle.  Today I’m showcasing the latest in their Historic Royal Palaces series with the lovely Tower of London 1000 piece jigsaw puzzle.  The Tower of London really is a truly iconic landmark of our capital city, and somewhere I’ve been lucky enough to visit a few times.

You can’t cease to be impressed with the Tower of London, it’s seen bloodshed, fire and countless wars and is still standing, these days surrounded by soaring skyscrapers.  But it’s still there, a testament to our past heritage. Steeped in history it’s somewhere I’ll be exploring with Monkey when he’s a little older, I’m sure he’ll be as amazed by the Crown Jewels as I was the first time I saw them.

This Ravensburger puzzle has the quality you would expect from the brand and the photographic images work really well to represent the historic palace itself.  Famed for the Beefeaters that defend the Tower of London, the Guardsmen that keep guard of the Crown Jewels and the Ravens that protect us all, these are also represented in this 1000 piece puzzle.

Being a bit of a Tudor fan, I’ve always been fascinated by Traitors Gate and you get quite a sense of what prisoners must have felt as they arrived there by boat, to walk up the steps into the imposing Palace, their prison.

There’s lots of detail in this puzzle, and as always it’s given rise to a few conversations with my son.  Always a good thing as far as I’m concerned.  The puzzle has plenty to keep a jigsaw puzzle fan busy, and it’s been a really interesting puzzle to complete.

About Over 40 and a Mum to One

I'm a Mum in my late 40′s with a 7 year old son. I had a busy life in Export Sales before my Monkey came along, but decided to become a stay at home Mum once he arrived. Now I enjoy writing my own family lifestyle and travel blog. sharing the adventures that we have as Monkey makes his journey through school. We have a cat called Brewster who makes appearances and I’m a mad Ferrari Formula 1 fan, so that expect to hear about as each season unfolds. We love reviewing toys, games and books and would love the opportunity to look at anything that fits in with our family lifestyle. We are always out and about and offering an insight on the places we visit, with a passion for nature thrown in for good measure. If you like what you read please leave me a comment, I love to hear from people, and always try to reply. Enjoy the read.
