George and the New Craze

George and the New Craze

Monkey loves Giraffes so it’s no wonder that he’s a big fan of Alice Hemming and her series of books about George the Giraffe.  In her latest offering, George and the New Craze we are back at the Heavenly Hippos Wildlife Park with the giraffe and his friends.

George and the New Craze

George and the New Craze was published through Maverick Arts Publishing in May.  The picture sees the friends joining in with the latest craze of collecting ‘people cards’.

The penguins are always one step ahead of the rest of the animals and they’ve already amassed a full collection of 100 people cards.  Poor George only had three of them and he soon realises that you can’t have that much fun with three cards, especially when two of them are the same.

George and the New Craze

Monkey isn’t interested in football and hasn’t been struck by any desire to collect cards of any form as yet.  But the story line certainly made me chuckle. I can vividly remember my brother and his Panini sticker books and football cards were the rage, even in the dark ages of my own childhood.

In George and the New Craze, it isn’t long before George and his friends realise that the best way to build a collection of cards, is to work together.  Will they get to impress the trend setting penguins?  I won’t ruin the ending for you.

There’s a funny story line and we’ve enjoyed reading this picture book together.  Priced at £6.99 I’ve included my Amazon Affiliate link below for you.  You can read my reviews on the previous books in the series too – The Black and White Club and A Gold Star for George.
