Glow Art

Glow Art – review and giveaway

Monkey tends to be a bit of a scribbler, and I’m always looking at ways to help develop his artistic skills.  I thought Glow Art sounded a little different and was something we could both have some fun with.

Glow Art

The Glow Art set comes with a light up LED drawing board with built in stand and 4 coloured fluorescent markers.  It requires 3 x AA batteries which are not included and is aimed at children aged 3 years and over.  Although nearly 50 year olds quite enjoy playing with it too!  The light box is available in black or pink and priced at £24.95 per Glow Art set.

Remove the plastic protective film from both sides of the light board, fit your batteries and you are ready to have some fun. Well I did have to test it out.

Basically draw your picture or abstract art in Monkey’s case on the front screen with the fluorescent pens provided.

Glow Art

Once you’ve finished your design, pull out the stand from the back of the frame, turn the battery switch on (also on back) and press the button on the front right-hand side and watch the light show illuminate your artwork.

Monkey has been mesmerised by the colour changes, and it’s constantly changing.

My son is obsessed by steam trains as regular readers will know.  As well are drawing free hand you can also put a picture underneath the Glow Art light board and trace onto it.  We made an Andy Warhol style Mallard Steam Train and thought it looked rather good.

But Glow Art comes into its own when you turn the light on and let the lights do the talking.

When you want to create a new design, just wipe the screen over with a soft, dry cloth.

I’m hoping that Monkey might be able to make use of his Glow Art set for a future homework project.  It will certainly make it more interesting for him to complete and a little different to display too.

Replacement pens are also available from the Glow Art website.

disclosure:  we were sent the item mentioned in exchange for an honest review
