K'Nex 3 in 1 Classic Amusement Park Building Set 17035

K’Nex 3 in 1 Classic Amusement Park Building Set 17035

Last week I shared the great Electric Inferno Roller Coaster set from K’Nex with you. Today I’ve got a real beauty for you.  In fact, Monkey nearly cried when we opened this particular delivery.  For the longest time he’s looked longingly at the display in our local toy shop.  It’s a go to location, every time we venture into town.  He’s been in love with the K’Nex Ferris Wheel for as long as I can remember.  I wish I’d captured his expression when he opened the box to discover the K’Nex 3 in 1 Classic Amusement Park Building Set 17035.  He was and still is totally beside himself to have received this set.

The K’Nex 3 in 1 Classic Amusement Park Building Set 17035 is a 744 piece set, aimed at children aged 9 years and over.  It’s possible to make a classic Ferris Wheel and a Swing Ride which both have full instructions within the accompanying leaflet.  You can also make a Boom Ride by downloading the build instructions from the K’Nex website.

The set comes complete with stand gauge K’Nex, a motor (2 x AA batteries are required to operate this), a large cog and an instruction booklet.

Monkey turns 7 next month, and plays with K’Nex a lot, so I knew, that with a little guidance he’d be able to construct most of this set by himself.  It’s certainly less complex than the Electric Inferno set and a great building experience.

Monkey always gets excited when we come across a new K’Nex component.  He realised instantly that the ‘red squares’ would be the standing platform and wanted to install the big cog with the motor as soon as he could.

It’s great to watch these sets come together, and the K’Nex 3 in 1 Classic Amusement Park Building Set 17035 is no exception.  The Ferris Wheel was fairly easy to construct and it wasn’t long before the various carriages were being put in place.  Monkey also discovered that his Playmobil people are the perfect size to act as passengers for his new ride.

I think the face says it all.  He’s so over the moon with this Ferris Wheel, it will be some time before he will allow us to make one of the other two rides.  So for now I’ll just share a quick video showing this ride.  It’s quite large, standing at 87cms tall.

Priced at £49.99 I’ve included my Amazon Affiliate link below (it’s currently on offer too!). This is a great set for budding engineers and we really rate it, without even making the other two rides! K’Nex have such a wide range of products, they offer something for all abilities.  We’re big fans, and next week I’ll be sharing our thoughts on a much smaller set. The Cars Building Set 25525 is aimed at children aged 7 years and over, and offers 12 different vehicles to build.
