Putting Berghaus Kids to the test with Blacks

Putting Berghaus Kids to the test with Blacks

My husband is a stalwart fan of the Berghaus brand and basically lives in their jackets when we are off on adventures.  But I’ve not tried the range for my son.  It’s been time to change that and we’ve been putting Berghaus Kids to the test with Blacks.  My 7-year-old son and I both love him in red, so as soon as he spotted the Berghaus Carrock Waterproof jacket on the Blacks website, we knew that was for him.

Blacks are an online retailer offering all manner of outdoor gear for all the family, and have recently launched a new range of jackets for children aged 3-13 from Berghaus.

The Carrock Waterproof jacket is made from AQ™ fabric which is breathable, so it’s been keeping Monkey warm and dry over the last few weeks.  It’s certainly been ideal for the changeable conditions we’ve been having.  The bright red colour also means he’s instantly recognisable as he gets braver at leaving my side and running on ahead when we’re off on our adventures.  The piping around the jacket is reflective, which is really handy when we’re walking home from Beavers in the dark.  The jacket features a roll-away hood with rear adjustment, toggle hem, two zipped pockets, elasticated cuffs and a chin guard on the zip.

Monkey turned 7 in December so I had ordered the jacket in size 7-8, but we found that it was too short in the sleeves and body for him.  The next size up is 9-10 and for him, it’s a much better fit, there’s still some room for growth but it doesn’t totally drown him either.

You might have spotted him putting Berghaus Kids to the test with Blacks when we recently walked around Queen Pool at Blenheim Palace.  The jacket was perfect on a March day, when the weather just didn’t know what it wanted to do.  It kept him dry, warm and comfortable as we walked around the parklands.

Putting Berghaus Kids to the test with Blacks has also involved a trip to the Butterfly House.  In the humid conditions, Monkey confirmed that he didn’t feel too hot and the breathable jacket really kept him comfortable during our visit.

From checking out an era of bygone machinery to all sorts of stuffed animals, the Berghaus Kids jacket really has passed the test with a big thumbs up from both my son, and I.

The quality of the jacket is as you would expect from the Berghaus brand, and I’ve just spotted that Blacks currently have this Carrock Jacket reduced from £65 down to £52.  Bargain.
