Project 365 2017 Week 17 Day 113 – 119 The week that the blog got hacked.
Sunday 23rd April – Day 113
Monkey had had a very late night yesterday as we’d been to my niece’s 21st birthday party. I thought he might have a lie in this morning, but no such luck. He did however, decide that it would be a pj day and that he’d be chilling out on the sofa. That seemed fair enough, especially as he’d be back to school tomorrow.
In the afternoon Daddy P was tasked with putting up the floating shelf I’d bought for Monkey’s bedroom weeks ago. He’s always telling me that the walls in this house are awful to fix anything to, after today I believe him. 4 different types of wall plugs and 6 holes later and still the shelf isn’t fixed. What a disaster. Looks like we’ll have to get some metal wall plugs in the week, seems like overkill, but nothing else has worked. I’ll be filling holes tomorrow too!
Monday 24th April – Day 114
I failed to take any even half decent photos today, even this one isn’t as good as it should be. We have a lovely tree in our front garden that has burst into bloom, it’s lovely to look out on from the kitchen window. The quality of the photo kind of summed up the day.
Back to school for Monkey and jobs for me. He went off to school ok, but boy did we know he was tired when he came home. Screaming, shouting and doors slamming, a glimpse of the teenage years. Eventually he calmed down and headed off to Beavers. Apparently he was lodge leader for the season as his leader was still on her holiday. He was rather chuffed but he still keeps telling me he wants to leave 🙁 It was lovely to walk there and back in daylight.
Tuesday 25th April – Day 115
A full back to work day for me, and class photo day for Monkey. All sorts of information about how they do the photos came out of Monkey today. Normally you get nothing from him at all. He came home telling me that he was going to take a class photo for all his teddies with me. Cute.
The weather was all over the place. Snow was forecast, we had blue sky and sunshine for most of the day, then the sky went black and the hailstones arrived, followed by rain. We missed the snow though thankfully.
Wednesday 26th April – Day 116
Brewster apparently thinks he’s king of the castle, or at least my bed. He was not for moving.
I’d spent the day in Banbury, having a meeting followed by a catch up with my ex MIL who’s not been well again.
Thursday 27th April – Day 117
It’s been a stressful few weeks with some family things that are going on and to say I really didn’t need some shi**y person hacking my blog and injecting malicious code into every single post on my blog (over 2,500 of them) would be an understatement. There were lots of tears but thankfully the lovely Zoe came to my rescue and sorted it all out. She saved my sanity.
Somehow Monkey just seemed to know that his Mum was a little fragile when I picked him up from school. I needed to call his Dad, and without me even mentioning anything, Monkey walked into the room, with his handwriting practice book. Mummy I just got on with it. Blimey! What a little star. We had a lovely few hours together before bedtime. Monkey cuddles are just the best, although Monkey wanted some Brewster cuddles too. Not sure Brewster was quite so keen.
After I’d read to Monkey at bedtime, he told me he wasn’t tired and wanted to read to himself. He picked a few Early Readers from his book box and said he found some of the words hard to read. We agreed that he would write any tricky word down and we’d go through them together the next day. Bless him, when I went to bed, I found his notebook by the side of the bed, with his tricky word list, all beautifully written out. Love that boy.
Friday 28th April – Day 118
Monkey’s teacher asked if we could move her one to one sessions with him from Thursday afternoons to Friday mornings. I needed to get him to school for 8am. This might not sound like a tall order, but when you have a child that you normally have to wake up at 7.30am during the school week, I knew it would be a challenge. I got him up for 7am, but boy is he like me, and not a morning person. Bless him, and of course he needed the loo just as we needed to leave home. But we got there, just. Hopefully he got on ok.
Zoe’s hard work has meant I could crack on with blog work this morning. Daddy P had left some pastries in the kitchen when he got home in the early hours, so I treated my self to one along with a Caramel Latte. It’s nearly the weekend after all.
Saturday 29th April – Day 119
We’ve been going to the Jousting events at Blenheim Palace for almost as long as Monkey’s been born. Free with an annual pass, so a bargain trip. The last time we went we had to leave before the show began as Monkey’s eardrum perforated and he was in agony. Today, thankfully his ears behaved and we had a lovely time. I took my longer lens to see if I could get some decent action shots. I’m a little in love with owls and got some shots I’m quite pleased with.
What an amazing photo of the owl! So sorry to hear someone had hacked your blog, what an absolute nightmare! Glad Zoe sorted it for you. I totally understand the challenge of getting kids out of the house early! I’m dreading when my kids have to be at the bus stop at 7.40 in September! My eldest doesn’t get out of bed until 7.35 🙁
I’m glad Zoe managed to sort the blog, I have no idea what these stupid people gain hacking blogs! The owl photo is amazing, I love Owls too, we have one that follows us most mornings on the school run. Well done on getting Monkey to school on time, none of mine would be able to manage on a Friday morning, they are always too exhausted.
So sorry you have had problems with your blog. Glad you got it sorted.
hehehe! Your cat really does look like king of the castle/bed. He looks very at home there.
The photo of the owl is amazing. Well captured x
Thank you
Oh my gosh my heart is just melting about the tricky word list and doing his homework on his own. What a superstar! #365
He can be an angel at times
Oh so glad the hacking issue got sorted!! That owl shot is amazing….and love Brewster, so cute.
Thank you
glad you made it to the 21st birthday and you were feeling better after last week. From experience I’d say if Monkey is unhappy at Beavers then I would withdraw him. I made my kids stick at things they wanted to try for at least 2 terms and if they then decided they didn’t like it or want to do it, they left, they all soon found their niche. Football, sea and army cadets, gymnastics. they’d tried martial arts, beavers, cubs, scouts, music, craft clubs etc.
I know you’re right, it’s such a shame as he’d do so mmuch of what he actually loves if he went to Cubs.
Great capture of the owl.
Oh dear at an 8am start for him, hope it works out ok.
Nothing worse than a tired stropping child.
Thank you, apparently the first session went well so fingers crossed.
How crappy to have your blog hacked – glad you got it fixed. Great owl photo and I do love how patient Brewster is!
Thank you, he’s not always so patient.
oh no bloody hackers! what a right pain for you and very stressful. I am so glad it has been sorted out for you. Loving the Friday treat photo – thats a great way to end the week! That owl capture is fab , but `I am sorry about Monkey’s ear drum ! that must have been so painful for him. I hope he is feeling better with it now x
Such a nightmare but hopefully it’s all sorted now. Yes the eardrum was the last time we went so all forgotten now.
