Project 365 2017 Week 25 Day 169 – 175

Sunday 18th June  – Day 169

Project 365 2017 Week 25

We took Daddy P on a surprise trip to the RAF Cosford Museum for Father’s Day.  Monkey wasn’t playing ball with having his photo taken with his Dad so I had to capture a few when he wasn’t looking.  It’s so nice to see him stopping at interactive displays these days and trying things out.  We had a great time but boy was it a scorcher of a day.  We headed off to Bridgnorth to have a quick look at the steam trains at the Severn Valley Railway before heading to Pizza Hut in Kidderminster for tea on the way home.

Monday 19th June – Day 170

Project 365 2017 Week 25

I treated myself to a manicure with my friend Bobbie in the morning.  I always prefer darker colours on my finger nails.  Everyone over on Instagram seemed to like my ring, little did they know that my nails actually match my mugs.  The temperature was rising and it hit 41 degrees in my back garden in the afternoon.

After school Monkey headed over to Stoke Woods with Beavers on a bug hunt and to identify trees from their leaves.  A perfect activity for him and he came back full of his adventures.

Tuesday 20th June – Day 171

Project 365 2017 Week 25

Another scorcher and a day for me to get some work done whilst Monkey was at school.  I made sure the paddling pool was filled up and his swim stuff was ready and waiting for him.  We had an ice cream on the walk home from school and Monkey stayed in the pool for the afternoon.  Mummy, you can’t see me can you?

The heat had got to him and he was still asleep when I went upstairs to have a bath at 9.30pm.

My eldest niece had been involved in a car crash earlier today, she’s 6 months pregnant and ended up in the JR in Oxford.  She’s staying in overnight to be monitored, all seems ok but she’s badly bruised.  She was incredibly lucky and I’m feeling very thankful.

Wednesday 21st June – Day 172

Project 365 2017 Week 25

The hottest day of the year and boy did it feel it.  My ankles have really suffered these last few days.  I’d been invited to review The Peacock at Oxhill and I took one of my NCT friends with me.  The food was quite devine. I got home to find that Monkey’s new paddling pool had arrived but I knew I didn’t have time to blow it up and fill it with water before school finished so I put it away.

Monkey was just as happy to spend the afternoon and early evening splashing around in his old pool.  I let him stay up later as he wasn’t going to sleep with the heat anyway.

My niece messaged me to let me know she was back home, she and the baby are ok, what a relief for everyone.

Thursday 22nd June – Day 173

Project 365 2017 Week 25

I got woken up at 5am by the wind knocking photo frames off my windowsill and found Monkey asleep beside me. No idea when he had got into bed with me!  The weather has turned, grey clouds and windy, not the day to try out the new paddling pool unfortunately.

We’ve barely seen Brewster over the last week.  The heat has really got to him and he’s spent most of the time hiding from it in the bushes.  It was lovely to have him back in the living room with me whilst I’ve been working today.

Friday 23rd June – Day 174

Project 365 2017 Week 25

Camo Day at school to celebrate tomorrow’s Armed Forces Day and Monkey went in happily in his purple (it’s the new khaki) camouflage shorts and a green t-shirt.  We have an Army base close by as well as an American Air Force base to it seems only right to recognise the day.  Monkey seemed ok about dressing up and went into school early for his one to one lesson.

I headed off to Rousham House to meet up with my photography class.  It was my first visit and I loved it, so mush to photograph in the grounds.

I’m going out this evening to review The Angel, a recently refurbished pub, with a friend. Can’t wait.

Saturday 24th June – Day 175

Project 365 2017 Week 25

My friend L and I had a lovely evening last night, I got to bed at midnight and woke up at 4am, and just could not get back to sleep.  Having had to be woken up every morning this week, Monkey decided to get up at 6.30 this morning, no rest for the wicked.

We were going to spend the day with my ex MIL, I decided it was best to leave my car at home so we caught the train and a bus to get to her house.  Monkey loved it, even if we did waste an hour by waiting for the bus in completely the wrong place.

My eldest niece and her boyfriend popped over and it was so lovely to see her, after her car crash earlier in the week.  We decided to all go out for lunch together which was so nice.  I do like days that just evolve. Although I could do with a good nights sleep tonight.  We’ve got a busy day tomorrow.

  1. It sounds like you had a lovely Father’s day….
With the weather being like it has been the best place for kids is in the paddling pool. hehehe
I’m glad your niece and the baby is OK.

  2. I am so glad to hear that your niece is ok. What a horrible fright that must have been. Wow 41 degrees!! I moan at 23 so would definitely need a pool like Monkey. #365

  3. I love your purple matching nail polish and mug – my Jenson would love both himself as purple is his favourite colour. Good news about your niece being ok – that must have been so awful at the time. driving can be so perilous!
It has been too hot this week , I know we moan about the heat when ti is here BUT its always too blooming’ hot, no slightly warmer than normal but full on heatwave ……or not! not much inbetween is there? Paddling pools are def needed – infact an outdoor pool for us mums would be too lol. x

  4. You certainly packed in a lot on Father’s Day. We wouldn’t think of combining the 2 attractions as they are both quite a lot in their own right, but I guess if you factor in the drive it makes sense. Glad your niece wasn’t badly hurt – it must be a relief to have her out of hospital.

  5. Thank goodness your niece and the baby are fine.
Lots of eating out this week, not a bad idea when the weather is so hot.
oooohhh a new pool for us to see next time the sun is out.

  6. love the nail polish, I too prefer the deeper, darker colours. so sorry to hear about your SIL and the baby, glad everything is ok, must have been a terrible shock for all. I’ve had a couple of disturbed nights with the wind rattling the blinds, it’s a dilemma, be too hot with the windows closed or risk being woken up, I think the hot weather is over though for now

  7. Glad to hear all is well with your niece – sounds like quite a shock. Always the way with the weather and new paddling pools – hopefully you’ll get to use it soon!

  8. So glad your niece and baby are ok!

My cat also hid under the bushes in the garden, she’s back indoors again!

Love the colour of your nails

I'd love to hear from you and try to reply to all comments
