Today we were invited to Hatton Country World and I’ll be writing about our whole day separately. But two things happened today that warranted mention in the Linky Small Steps Amazing Achievements 1st Aug 2013.
My son is not the most adventurous little boy, he certainly doesn’t imitate Indiana Jones in any way. But today, he was very brave and went in the big sandpit at Hatton Country World WITHOUT my being attached to his side. This may seem like nothing to you, but to us, it’s immense. He is very unsure in new situations, especially where there are lots of unknown people. So for him to have the confidence to play without me being by his side was a really big thing. I could actually sit on the grass outside the sandpit in the sunshine.
Secondly, he actually pedalled himself on the pedal tractors – only a little bit, but that was a first. We’ve been trying to encourage him to pedal his own tractor/digger for months with no success. But today, after a bit of Mummy pushing, he actually pedalled himself – not for long, but hopefully, it was a start – we so want to buy him a bike!
These may seem like the norm for a 3 and half-year-old but for him they are small steps amazing achievements on 1st August 2013 🙂
Sounds like Monkey did himself proud and a great day out. . Hoping you will link this one to Country Kids in the morning.
He did really well, bless him 🙂
This is fantastic progress, I hope his confidence continues to grow. It sounds like you had a great day.
