Now I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but we’ve hit September! How did that happen? I’m really starting to notice the nights drawing in, and if like me you like to sit on your patio with a glass of wine in the evening – you could end up sitting in the dark. Well I have found a solution, something new, a traditional LED Lantern. This lovely example will shortly be introduced to the Outdoor Lighting range at John Lewis.
This outside Traditional LED Lantern in Steel is powered by 4 x D batteries and the 21 LED lights can be dimmed using the black knob you can see on the front of the photograph above.
There is a carry handle and a smaller loop so you could hang this lamp up in your garden, or take it camping with you maybe.
I was quite surprised by how light this Lantern is, it’s very lightweight.
A couple of area’s puzzled my slightly. I’m not sure why there is a lever to raise the glass lamp (as you can see above) as you cannot change the LED assembly and the finish on one side of the handle (bottom right photo) was not quite up to the standard I would expect from John Lewis. But neither of these issues affect the use of this product.
So what does it look like when the sun goes down?
Looks good, doesn’t it? There is chrome cone-shaped glass at the top of the lantern and the LED lights reflect beautifully off it. The dimmer works well and the LED’s provide a strong light to make sitting outside with friends on a September evening an enjoyable experience.
This particular Traditional LED Lantern will retail for £25.00 and I picked up a pack of batteries in the local supermarket for under £4.00.
