New winter coat – AD sent for review

disclosure:  I was sent the item mentioned for the purpose of review

You’ve read the title of this post and shouted ‘what!!! – the sun’s still out!’ Right?  Well I do like to be organised, don’t I?  Yes, I need a new winter coat.  I’ve got my boringly practical Mummy pre-school waterproof mac that will save me from getting drenched at the school gates, but sometimes I’d like to look a little bit more like me.  If you ask anyone who knows me well what the colour of my perfect coat would be – I can guarantee the answer would come back BLUE.  I did go through a long purple phase some years back, but my heart has always been blue, mainly a blue topaz or peacock-blue.  I even married Daddy P in pale blue.

So I need a new winter coat, my old one has definitely seen better days.  I have to be honest and say that Bonmarche wouldn’t have been my first port of call, I’ve always thought of them as a shop for older people (yes, there are people older than me!).  But when I heard that David Emmanuel was designing for them, I decided to check out their new line of clothes.

Do you know who David Emanuel is?  I’m guessing there’s a chance that you maybe don’t, if you were born after 1981, anyway!  He was half of the design team who made a stunning wedding dress for a certain Lady Diana Spencer.  I’ve seen that dress up close at Althorp – it is beautiful.  Anyway, I digress, back to my new winter coat!

I had a look at the new lines that Bonmarche are introducing, I was taken aback, as there were a number of items I liked, sadly some of them started at size 12, and I’m an 8-10 size.  But as I clicked through the different items, something caught my eye – that was it, my new winter coat!

It arrived today.

The David Emanuel Funnel Neck Coat in Sapphire (you can also buy it in Grey) sells for £45.00.  Its made of Outer: 94% Polyester, 3% Elastane & 3% Viscose. Lining 100% Polyester, so it’s faux wool, but you don’t expect a wool coat for £45.00 – right!  As you can see it has 4 buttons and 2 poppers to keep me nice and warm this winter.

I’m really pleased, it’s the style of coat I like, the colour I love and felt very cosy when I tried it on earlier this week.  I’m rather looking forward to wearing my new winter coat.
