disclosure: we were sent these items for the purpose of review
We’ve been fans of Tree Fu Tom since the CBeebies TV series began. You may remember we recently reviewed a Tree Fu Tom jigsaw puzzle set. The series centres on Tom; a boy who transforms into the miniature superhero ‘Tree Fu Tom’ with ‘Tree Fu movement magic’. He’s joined by my personal favourite Twigs (voiced by David Tennant) the little Acorn Sprite, Zigzoo the eccentric tree frog inventor, Squirmtum the woodlouse, Ariela the tom-boy butterfly and Treetog the Tree Fu Master and wise teacher. During the series, we get to see Tom and his friends try to outwit the mischievous Mushas – the mushroom brother and sister duo Stink and Puffy. My son was very excited when Tree Fu Tom came to visit!
We decided to start by watching the Tree Fu Tom Time for Tree Fu! DVD.
The DVD comes complete with a Tree Fu Tom action figure which he really liked.
Time for Tree Fu! contains 6 episodes from the Tree Fu Tom series, giving us just over 2 hours of action-packed Tree Fu Tom adventures. My son was a very happy boy. The episodes featured are:
One for All!
Treefle Tom
The Great Journey
Not So Fast!
Hovering Humblebugs
Treasure Hunt
The Time for Tree Fu! DVD is out now and is available from all the usual retailers.
Our next Tree Fu Tom adventure was with the brand new Tree Fu Tom magazine – we were very lucky to receive the very first issue.
This new 36-page magazine comes with stickers (always a hit with a nearly 4 year), a miniature Tom and some crayons and a wind-up Squirmtum, which has given us lots of entertainment. As you would expect in this type of magazine there is a story (we’d have liked to see another one too), lots of activities – drawing, cutting out and making things, games and learning activities.
Issue Two is out right now and includes over 50 stickers, an inflatable ball and Tree Fu Spell cards. The magazine is priced at £2.99.
On 28th October the Tree Fu Snow DVD will be released, featuring a further 7 episodes and offering well over 2 hours of Tree Fu Tom fun.
Episodes featured:
Weather Bother
Tom’s Big Mess
Sappy Day
A Rickerty Rescue
Grubble Trouble
Tiny Tom
The Lost Stone
Lots of action-packed adventures with Tree Fu Tom, Twigs and their friends. Another big hit with my son and his Big World Magic moves.
If you have a Tree Fu Tom fan in your midst it’s worth following on Twitter and Facebook to catch all the latest news and offers.
We’re off for a quick game of Snap now, or maybe Swap, Picture Pairs or Tom’s Matching Game! with Tom’s Giant Card Games.
Tree Fu Tom is popular in our house too! Monkey is a lucky boy getting that amazing goody bag!
I know he is very lucky indeed. I am typing this with Tree Fu Tom stickers all up my arm – I forgot when I just answered door to postwoman – oh dear!
