Mr Bloom's Nursery Giant Turnip DVD

Mr Bloom’s Nursery Giant Turnip DVD review and giveaway

As regular readers of the blog will know, Daddy P comes from a long line of greengrocer’s.  We’ve been actively involving Monkey in growing his own fruit and vegetables this year.  So it will come as no real surprise that we’re rather fond of Mr Bloom’s Nursery on CBeebies in this house.  On 14th October Abbey Home Media will be releasing Mr Bloom’s Nursery Giant Turnip DVD, featuring 4 episodes from the popular show.Mr Bloom's Nursery Giant Turnip DVDMonkey, who’s nearly 4 now, loves Mr Bloom and finds all of his Veggie friends very entertaining.  I like the fact that this series gets children interested in gardening in a fun, but educational way.  There’s also lots of singing and dancing through the episodes as Mr Bloom and the Tiddlers (the children) work together in his Nursery.

The Mr Bloom’s Nursery DVD features 4 episodes and will keep your pre-schoolers entertained for just over 90 minutes.  The episodes featured are:

Giant Turnip

As well as learning about the Nursery, gardening and Veggies the Tiddlers learn about working as a team to get something done.  Monkey will sit watching Mr Bloom’s Nursery and be totally enthralled by all the action.  Doesn’t mean I am any more likely to persuade him to eat turnips in a winter stew, but I live in hope! We do love Sebastian the Aubergine, our favourite Veggie.

Our favourite episode is definately Worms, Mr Bloom teaches us all about worms, their movement and how they help to make compost.  Monkey now wants to make his own compostarium!

We give Mr Bloom’s Nursery Giant Turnip DVD a big thumbs up.

If you have some little Tiddlers who love learning about Veggies in a fun and entertaining way then look no further.  Abbey Home Media are offering 5 copies of Mr Bloom’s Nursery Giant Turnip DVD to my readers!  Entry is via the rafflecopter below – good luck!

  1. Does tomato soup count as a veggie? Squeaky refuses to eat any, partly I think, from watching Mr Bloom, and not wanting to eat his friends. She does love her giant cuddly Ikea broccoli though!

  2. My kids love tomatoes, carrots, beets, cucumber, celery, zucchini (courgette), onions, garlic, peppers, and just about anything!

  3. POD loves peas and most other veg for that matter. This looks great, lovely review. Will be back to enter when home (at the in-laws) where internet connection better 🙂

  4. carrots peas, broccolli. my daughter eats pretty much any veg, my sons a bit more selective, he tries though so thats all i ask 🙂

  5. I am quite boring in that I love peas and green beans! My son loves sprouts! My 2 little girls love peas, broccoli and cauliflower and my husband only likes carrots!

  6. Jenny’s favourite veggies are sweetcorn. Eve loves ALL OF THEM. She’s a parent’s dream – she devours fruit and veg. Not like me. All I ate was fish fingers.

  7. My 4 year old son absolutely loves broccoli & cauliflower whereas my 1 year old daughter favourites are peas and sweetcorn! 🙂

  8. In our house sprouts are universally hated, while sweetcorn and teeny weeny little baby plum and cherry tomatoes are the good guys!! Little tomatoes are even popped in like sweeties as a treat into lunchboxes x

I'd love to hear from you and try to reply to all comments
